Ladies’s Christmas Gift Guide 2018

Shopping for the lady in your life, your mother, mother-in-law, sister etc.  Not sure what to buy and need a few gift idea suggestions to get you on the right tracks??? Don’t fret, you’ve come to the right place.  As always I’m on your side, ready to give you some fabulous gift ideas and also thrown in a competition of two for good measure as I do enjoy spreading some festive cheer all through the year.

This year my wonderful gift ideas include:

A Range of Items from Find Me A Gift

 Jewellery

The Mixed Flower Round Pendant is a lovely piece of jewellery that allows the wearer to carry around that little bit of summer with them all year around.  The chain is nice and dainty and the necklace is a great size, not too bulky and pretty in design.

Bomb Cosmetics Bath Melts Gift Set

Having a soak in the bath can be a great way to relax.  Better still is a bath with bath bombs that contain beautiful fragrances of essential oils and also Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter.  These will not only relax body and mind but also moisturise the skin too.  A great time dual purpose gift that will put a smile on anyone’s face.

Professor Pengelly’s Putty – Unicorn Pink

An odd suggestion I do appreciate but then who really wants to be normal, it’s boring.  The reason I have suggested this is not just because it’s pretty, shimmery and pink but also because research shows playing with slime and the like exerts a therapeutic effect. Bet you didn’t expect that.  Apparently it can be relaxing which is probably why kids love it so much.  Release your inner child, have fun and reduce that stress with this pretty Unicorn Glitter Putty.

Bomb Cosmetics Candles – Blissful Rest

With lavender and clary sage the candle is perfect to promote relaxation.  Something that I could do with right now.  The candle contains essential oils that not only help relax body and mind but also leave the room with a wonderful lingering aroma.  I’m tempted to burn one in the bedroom to help hubby and I get a good restful sleep.

Gin

Gin is currently one of the most popular drinks so a gift set would be a great gift idea. This set contains 3 different gins for the giftee to enjoy from the award-winning Lakes  Distillery.

The mini Gin pack contains The Lakes Elderflower Gin Liqueur, The Lakes Rhubarb & Rosehip Gin Liqueur and The Lakes Gin.  Each gin is contained in a 5cl bottle and has been crafted from carefully selected botanicals.  There is also a vodka gift set should that be their preferred drink.

Beauty Products from Lavera

Who doesn’t love beauty products for Christmas!!! I mean seriously they top many ladies Christmas wish lists.  The great thing is you can get some fantastic items and not spend a fortune doing this unless you want to.

Let’s take the products from a company called Lavera for instance.  For those that have yet to discover them they are the leading natural and organic skincare brand certified organic by NaTrue.  Their products contain 100 & natural and organic ingredients.  They don’t test on animals for contain nasties such as parabens, SLS, phtalates, parraffinium, or petrochemicals.  They sound great don’t they.

Whether you buy individual products as stocking fillers, to make up a hamper or one of their great gift sets you know you have bought something the recipient is bound to love.  They even have products and gift sets for men.  Beauty not quite your thing and you’ve no idea what to gift then fear not they also do gift vouchers!

I loved the Lavera Firming Face Care Set from their range of goodies.

You get everything you could need for smooth plump healthy looking skin including a firming day cream that firms and smooths, firming night cream to nourish sleeping skin and a firming mask to nourish and hydrate.  It’s a lovely gift set and a great gift idea.

You can find these guys over on facebook and twitter.  Why not follow them to find out about their latest products.

The range of products varies.  You can buy single products too for specific problem areas should you prefer that to one of the sets.  Alternatively, order a selection of items to combat different things should you prefer.

The guys at Lavera are feeling super festive so I will be hosting a giveaway for them with a lovely prize.

The lucky winner will get to win a:

Lavera Ultra Hydrating Face Care Set

This set consists of a Ultra Hydrating Cream which has wild rose, perfect for hydrating skin over winter.  It also includes a Hydrating Mask to give the skin an extra moisture and nourishment boost.

buyagift Experiences or Vouchers

These make wonderful gifts and you can choose from such a wonderfully large selection.  Look for something you know they might love such as a:

Upper Circle Theatre Show and 3 Course Meal at a Contemporary London Restaurant

A great gift for theatre lovers with a great meal thrown in for added measure.  There is a great mix of shows and 5 restaurants nearby to choose from one of which is Monmouth Kitchen which I can confirm is wonderful!

Spa Break with Dinner and Private Hot Tub at Three Horseshoes Country Inn

Go that one step extra for that special person in your life and treat them to a spa break.  We all need a rest from daily life once in a while and this is ideal for that.

Meals Out or Afternoon Teas

For the foodies either would be great and there are various locations spread around the UK that you can dine.  I love both options myself, trying new foods is great fun and eating in lovely locations is a nice treat too.  You don’t need to spend a fortune either as prices start from just £19.

Animal Experiences

Perfect for animal lovers and there are a range of animal experiences in numerous locations around the UK.  This can give them a great day out where they can make so many wonderful memories to treasure for years to come.

Cookery Lessons

For those that love food and discovering new flavours and want to try and experiment with a new cuisine this is the ideal gift for them. Cooking is great fun and can be therapeutic and who knows they might treat you with their newly learnt skills in the kitchen.  Many of these are for two people so maybe they’ll take you with them.

There are suggestions on the site that can help you decide but if you’re still not sure what to get there are numerous Smartboxes to choose from at varying prices.  These are an ideal option as the recipient will get to chose their favourite activity from the large selection on offer in that category.  Smartboxes prices start at £24.99.

I loved the look of the:

Luxury Escape – Smartbox By Buyagift + Your Chance to Win One

It’s great value for money at £99.99 and includes a luxurious one-night break for two in either a city, seaside or countryside location from 285 choices across the UK and Europe.  This is super popular with a star rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on 427 reviews.

I’d have loved to try this myself.

For those that also think this is a super gift idea you now have the opportunity to win one thanks to the lovely guys at buyagift.

  1. Lovely range of gifts. I don’t drink , so the gin isn’t for me, but the pendant is so unique! I love bomb cosmetics stuff so the melts box and the candle are right up my street!

  2. Some fab ideas here. I’ve tried many different gins in recent times but never the Lakes ones so I’d love to give them a try! x

  3. Now this is a wonderful idea- my mum’s recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and she’s worried she won’t be able to enjoy nice holidays for a while. This might be the sort of little luxurious break both she and my dad could enjoy, while she undergoes her treatment. Thanks for writing about this!

  4. I’ve seen these before and this is such a great idea if you are struggling to get someone something ! It’s also perfect as they can choose their own gift experience, other than you choosing for them! Think my other half would love to have the cookery lessons – i’ve seen other people do them and they look great! (But if not he could choose whatever he wanted!)

  5. It’s a hard choice. I love candles, bath melts and gin, but partial to a lovely afternoon tea. On the other hand, I wouldn’t say no to a spa break and who doesn’t love animals?

  6. I’d love to receive the gin gift set. I’ve tried the Lakes’ regular gin but not their liqueurs so would love to give them a try!

  7. It would be great to do some cookery lessons, I’d love to cook healthier and fresher but I’m always struggling or ideas or inspiration!

  8. I’d love to win the Smartbox for me and my husband – its our 30th wedding anniversary next year. The Lakes gin set would be great for my sister – she loves her fancy gin :o)

  9. The smart box is a great idea for a present as there is so many different things to choose from, better than socks or a scarf at Christmas lol

  10. I could really do with some cookery lessons but you know what…..the spa retreat would come out on top every time. Who doesn’t love a good chill out and dinner, especially after Christmas.

  11. I’m torn I love Tigers so an animal experience would be amazing, the contemporary restaurant looks delicious, but the hot tun looks amazing too! It’s my birthday in January so I’ll have to drop some hints

  12. An Afternoon Tea, a Luxury Escape or some Cookery lessons; all 3 would be in my Wishlist! I would enjoy every single one of those treats!

  13. The spa break looks lovely! I’m always up for a relaxing weekend and a pampering break, especially because I have quite a busy job – I’m always out and about on the road, in fields and generally outside!!

  14. I think the variety of options available make this a perfect gift. For example, one pers0n m ay throw up their hands in horror at the idea of a big cat experience while for others it would be a once in a lifetime experience to remember for ever.
Another may love or feel insulted at cookery lessons.
You could say everyone would love a weekend break, but what if they have a babysitter, but no pet sitter?
That said – I’d love any of them, LOL!

  15. Wow, that big cat experience is really something different!
Cookery lessons wouldn’t really interest me, but anything with pampering, I’m in!

  16. I’d love to have some cookery lessons,I’m definitely sticking to simple things in the kitchen. It’ll have to wait till my son is a bit older though!

  17. Nothing I’d enjoy more than a nice massage right now so anything that includes a treatment or 2 would be my perfect gift right now

  18. You have presented lots of lovely gift ideas here and I love the clear descriptions with photos, they make it much easier to choose – thank you

  19. Such a lovely assortment of gifts to suit all ages and tastes, I love afternoon tea and animal experiences. My favourites treat is going away for a night since my youngest went off to University in September my husband and I have our freedom

  20. I’d love an afternoon tea experience. My Mum and Aunt always went to celebrate their birthdays and I’d love to carry on this tradition with my daughter and my cousin.

  21. I’m always up for a luxury break! The Lakes District tickles my fancy as does Bath (I’d love to go to the Bath Spa)

  22. I used the afternoon tea smartbox as xmas presents this year, they’re such a great idea and I know they were really well received. So much better than trying to guess what perfum somoebody likes which then becomes a wasted gift!

  23. I think the buy a gift box would be an amazing gift but if you want something little to give Lavera do lovely face creams x

  24. I love how this post focuses on memories – I find buying gifts so frustrating, when you know most will just end up as clutter. Particularly love the cookery idea, makes for a fun day out and hopefully gives idea for back home too.

  25. I think i would enjoy one of the zoo animal experiences BUT. I would also be very happy with afternoon tea.
I think these experience boxes are a great idea for family .. something fun and unexpected.

  26. Buy a gift, do have a great range of experiences, and also really handy if you have forgotton someones birthday or event and you can quickly buy online. Who doesn’t love a nice afternoon tea!

  27. So many lovely ideas.
I could do with some cookery lessons for sure but would rather go and relax with afternoon tea.

  28. My sisters and I regularly gift each other experiences for birthdays and Christmases. We have never used the smart box as a gift before so this is definitely something I would consider. I would love the theatre and meal gift myself.

  29. I bought a Buyagift box for my mum’s birthday – great idea for something different and I like the fact you can swap them. Thanks for running this comp

  30. I would LOVE the animal experience…but my husband would not 😂…so with him in mind and to be a good wife I would choose the cookery lesson for us both! He can cook…I burn water!

  31. I’d always choose experiences over everything else. I’d love to see Les Miserables , so I would say the theatre trip and meal would be my chooce, although a spa day is always top of my wish list. It’s a close call, lots of lovely things to chose from though.

  32. These are a lovely selection of treats. I think, if it were me, I would choose the cooking lessons. I enjoy cooking and can cook but would love to learn something different, such as making pasta or bread. Thanks for this fantastic giveaway xx

  33. I would love a luxury escape with the hubby. We very rarely get any time to ourselves, so it would be a great way to make it special!

  34. A spa break sounds absolutely divine to me! I had a baby 4 weeks ago today so could do with a little pamper after a brutal pregnancy!

  35. I love animal experiences, I’ve done two handling and flying birds of prey, and last year I went for a horse ride on a beach, it was magical!

  36. I love gifts like this…..I am quite fussy so I do like to choose my own experiences but this would be better than receiving money alone as spare money i have usually goes on things like stuff for the house or my daughter!

  37. I’ve seen these types of gifts before and always wanted to try them out!

You are so kind to be offering giveaways such as these.

I love your content, keep doing what you’re doing x

  38. Beautiful giveaway thankyou ! Some thoughfull gifts, and something for everyone.
Personally, I love a hot tub break, or an afternoon tea, I usually treat my daughter’s and have a catch up.
I’m drawn to the cooking lessons, not that I can’t cook ! But I find I’m always cooking the same meals. I’d like to learn some new skills, maybe a curry from scratch !

  39. I love the idea of the animal experience. I’m sure our cat is part ferral so it’d be great to get some tips on dealing with wild animals.

  40. I always give my parents a voucher for afternoon tea for 4 for Christmas so that they can have an afternoon tea with my sister and I in the New Year

  41. I would love a luxury escape because i need a break desperately having not had any type of break in the last 11 years – this would count as a minimoon until we can afford our honeymoon as well as a damn good excuse for me to turn off the phone and ignore absolutely everyone besides the stress they cause

  42. I like the luxury escape, its different as you can choose both city and rural locations, normally its one or the other, would make a great gift

  43. This has given me so many ideas for future birthday/anniversary treats as my partner and I both love anything to do with animals, theatre visits and romantic hotel escapes.

  44. I think the gin selection and the theatre gifts are ones I would go for. I really like gin and there’s such a nice selection available, the theatre shows are amazing – my mum is hopefully coming to visit in October and I’d love to take her to see a show!

  45. I would love the London experience with theatre and a three course meal. I would go with my friend. Unfortunately my husband passed away last year unexpectedly. We use to love travelling which I am continuing to do so as it is what he would want. We went abroad alot and took trips away here too. Fortunately I have very good friends so I can continue on in a different way doing these things and honouring his memory

  46. The best gift is always a gift that isn’t a ‘thing’ – more an experience. Memories of actually physically doing something last forever, whereas a ‘thing’ is something that you are easy to forget. I always buy experience gifts whenever I can.

  47. I love the variety of gifts available from buyagift, something for everyone. You have chosen an interesting selection to showcase.

  48. lots of gifts there but which one to choose, me and my bestie love trying different places for afternoon tea, think ive answered my own question.

  49. I’d love the west end show option but sadly it’s a bit tricky because it would take half a day to get there. Not beyond the bounds of possibility though! 🙂

  50. Lovely gift guide. I agree bath bombs/melts are always a winner. So relaxing and the bath oils work so well at helping my daughter’s
eczema and so now loves baths.

  51. I think experience gifts are brilliant. It’s nice to do something different. I’d love to take my mum to either afternoon tea or a spa day. But the the bath bombs would be lovely. It nice to relax in the bath xx

  52. I think we treat ourselves to infrequently , so a give box that gives an escape is such a wonderful idea . A chance to take yourself out of the humdrum .

  53. That is a lovely selection of gifts. The Shrieking Violet pendant particularly caught my eye. I have seen some of their stuff in a gift shop and admired them there – so original!

  54. I love buyagift, I find appreciate experience gifts. I am thinking about getting my husband the Zip Trek Adventure one for valentines day.

  55. The afternoon teas have always appealed to me but seem so decadent. With a voucher I wouldn’t need to feel guilty

  56. I think these Buyagift vouchers are a fab idea. I received an champagne afternoon tea one for Christmas and I’ve booked for me and my best friend to use it at the Harte & Garter Hotel overlooking Windsor castle. Can’t wait!

  57. I would go for the cookery lesson to try and impress my family, I am not a good cook but all four children have survived till adulthood!!

  58. I really like the afternoon tea idea. It sounds a great way of relaxing and a proper chance to have a chat / catch up!

  59. I love BuyAGift , I have bought quite a few for family members, they’re great and if the recipient doesn’t quite like the experience you’ve thought was ideal for them, they can change it to something that’s more their cup of tea. I’d love a hot air balloon ride, a helicopter flight or a flying lesson!

  60. There’s so many gift experiences I would love to try. I love this great Christmas guide too, especially the candles as I am the biggest candle addict xxx

  61. The luxury escape looks lovely and at 99 it’s such a good price too! I just lost over half an hour browsing what they have available and I’d love to visit some of the places – beautiful x

  62. I’d love to go on more luxury escapes with my other half, the animal encounters mentioned above look fantastic as we both love animals and go to the zoo a lot on fad out in our spare time – experience days are a fantastic gift for anyone I find to help them experience something new!

  63. I’d love the animal experiences. Getting to be closer to the big cats would be the experience of a lifetime. My husband would probably say i need the cookery lessons!!

  64. I think activity gifts are such a great idea, especially as people get older and have a house full of “things”. There’s such a great choice with buyagift too. I know if I was gifted one I’d be over the moon and would have difficulty choosing between afternoon tea, a spa day or a hotel or glamping break.

  65. Wow Melanie you are kind!
Blogs this ♡fab♡ are hard to find
I’d love to win a break away
A little slice of heaven for me & my fiancé
Things have been very tricky of late
So a bit of r&r just him & me would be great
Nice also to get a change of scenery
It sounds both exciting & dreamy
Buy a gift are awesome too
& i’m following the both of you
    💜Here’s hoping💚

  66. I love the prizes – especially the BuyAGift one as I love going for Afternoon Tea. It is such a treat for me and my hubby. Although if I was to win, I may take my mum out for a change!
