Food and Drink Gift Guide 2019

The number of food and drink gifts being bought for Christmas has skyrocketed over the last few years.  I know so many people that would appreciate a lovely bottle of something nice to drink or some gorgeous chocolates to indulge on.  With options increasing daily and companies competing for our attention, it’s hard to know what to choose.

I’m here to help:

Il Gusto

We are all influenced by the physical appearance of our food and drink.  The guys at il Gusto have done a great job to make sure that their product options are varied, taste great and the bottles look the part.  These guys offer a range of products from oil and vinegars, spirits, liquors and more.  Each product comes nicely presented and there is a lovely range to choose from.  Their bottles also come in different shapes from stackable, star, gingerbread man, heart the list is very varied.

Creamy Liqueur Set 100ml x 3 (Chocolate, Whisky, Vanilla)

The heavenly flavours are perfect for anyone that loves sweet creamy drinks.  They’re that bit different and perfect for foodies that enjoy a drink of something yummy as a treat.  These are the perfect alternative to the popular creamy drink most buy from the supermarket.  It’s nice to have something different and this 3 pack is the answer.

Liqueur Set 100ml x 3 (Fig Vodka, Blood Orange, Christmas Liq)

Prefer something a bit more fruity, then il Gusto have you covered.  These fab fruity flavours are wonderful and feature some lovely Christmassy flavours.  You’ll want to buy 2 so you can keep a set for yourself.  The bottles are super cute and stackable too!!!    Gifts can be personalised where required making them that bit more special.

Booja-Booja

Not all chocolate is created equal and being a foodie I should know.  I can have loads of chocolate in the cupboard but none I want to eat.  Why, because I’m afraid some chocolate is inferior quality and not refined enough for my palate.  The children are not so fussy which is fine with me but I will hide some chocolate from everyone as otherwise I’ll have to make do with just smelling the pack once they’ve had their fill.

Something Different

Tom Savano

These are the new guys in town and are definitely worth a mention.  Why?  Well, it’s because they make the most amazing cocktails of course!!!  Compare these to their inferior counterparts available on the market and you won’t buy your bottled cocktails anywhere else.

These guys have trialled hundreds of recipes to find the perfect balance using spirits from small batch, founder run, craft distilleries to ensure they have products of the highest quality.  There are 4 flavours to choose from: English Garden Lychee Martini, Single Estate Reposado Margarita, Devon Coastal Negroni and Kentucky Winter Old Fashioned.

Limited Edition Set of Christmas Tree Cocktail Baubles

These adorable little baubles allow adults to also have a treat as the big day approaches.  I’m all for the children picking chocolate Santas off the tree as we daily as we get closer to Christmas Day and if I can have a Lychee Martini or Margarita filled bauble in the lead up I’ll be very happy too.

bewater

Ideal for any foodie is this gorgeous bottle from bewater.  The bottles are really unique which I love.  Who doesn’t love gemstone but imagine having stones in your water bottle!  I know it’s a little unusual but bewater saw a gap in the market and have taken it.

This works on the principle that certain gemstones can absorb energy from movement, pressure and heat and convert it into electric energy, each emitting a unique frequency.  As water is said to have a memory, adding gemstones in or around water is believed to change the structure and taste of water.  bewater use this to enhance the therapeutic properties of the water and have a number of stone varieties available which will exert different effects.  The bottles are also fully reusable providing an ethical alternative to the 7 billion plastic water bottles we dispose of yearly in the UK.

the bewater concept appeals to me – i met a woman in a restaurant, who was telling me about her crystal store. but, it was when she mentioned her 25 year old son, that i was suddenly very interested. she did not look more than 25 herself! i asked her secret, and she felt that being around crystals all day, was it. the crystals impart minerals through our skin – and, we are all aware, that with the western diet, we miss out on many minerals which we need. love the reusable, non plastic, bewater bottle, too.

Wow what a lovely prize- I absolutely adore Booja Booja chocolates and it would be the ultimate treat to win these, especially given that it is my birthday this Fri 31 Jan!!

I love the sound of all of them but would really like to try the unusual liqueurs.
