(Collaborative post) Commuting to work can add hours to your day and quite frankly our days can be long enough. It can help to identify the best way or ways to commute to and from work. This will not just save time but also cut down on stress. Here we look at the various options and how we can make commuting to work far more enjoyable. Here we look at Finding the Most efficient Commute to Work.
Finding the Most Efficient Way to Commute to Work
Public Transport
Public transport can be a very efficient way to travel. Riding the bus, train, etc., allows you time during your commute to do something other than worry about getting into work. You’re not driving so why not do something you enjoy on the way in. Activities such as reading a book could come into play, or listening to music, or talking with friends or family members or colleagues you may travel with. In addition, riding public transport has been shown as beneficial for those who want less stress on their commutes. However, this will depend upon the level of comfort they feel while using it (i.e., crowded vs empty).
Your Own Vehicle
Owning your vehicle can be a great way to reduce the stress of commuting. This is especially true if you live in an area with little public transportation and for those who commute long distances daily. Most people like having their personal space when travelling. For this reason, using their own car is often preferred over travelling with others. You don’t need to have a top of the range vehicle. A second hand car such as those found at ford used cars be reasonably priced and mean you can travel to work in comfort. You could carpool with others that you work with to save money on fuel and also have days you can have a relaxed journey to work and not have to worry about driving.
Uber
Using a ride-sharing service like Uber is popular in many large cities. This service allows you to select your pick up location and then request the nearest available driver to get you. It’s great when commuting from work late at night or when it’s challenging to find parking near work. It also allows riders to split fares with others who live/work nearby them, which reduces their overall cost of transportation and makes these companies more affordable than individual vehicle ownership if used often enough.
Bicycle
Riding a bicycle is a great way to commute when you live in a city or town with plenty of bike lanes and roads. Cycling can be great for short commutes, but it may not work as well if your route takes more than an hour away. You might want to ride a normal bike or consider an electric bike that gives you the freedom of cycling on your own or with assistance. If you ride at night, for your own safety, you will require proper lighting and reflective gear.
Scooting
This is becoming more and more popular in recent years. Both a normal adult scooter or electric will have you whizzing along those roads to work. As with biking, you’ll need protective gear, as well as lighting and reflective strips when travelling at night. The weather might affect this form of transport though unless you wear the right clothing.
