Walk down Portobello Street

This scenic street is the backbone of Notting Hill. Portobello Street is lined with colourful houses, stunning murals at the Codrington Mews and luxury boutiques at Westbourne Grove. In Portobello, you will find the largest antique market in the world. Every Saturday you’ll see more than 1000 merchants selling their wares. Shortly after the 1940s, the market experienced a turning point. However, it started to become more popular in the 80s, and has drawn in crowds ever since. It remains a wonderful place where one can buy unique items, while there are also regular shops and restaurants.

Try Street Art at Grafik Gallery

Graffik Gallery is easily recognizable by the specially designed three-storey mural that adorns its facade created by The Dotmaster. In this gallery, you will admire works by the most significant urban artists in the world, such as Bansky, Stik and The Dotmaster. The space also hosts exhibitions and unique workshops that allow groups to try their hand at graffiti and stencil procedures.

Lose Yourself in Literature

The Luytens and Rubinstein bookstore was founded by writers in 2009. It is a wonderful bookstore where you can find thousands of science fiction titles and more, such as children’s fairy tales, art and poetry. The bookstore aims to offer attentive and specialized service. Bookworms can participate in various programs, such as A Year in Books and A Year With One Author, and there are many more items besides books, such as pottery and bags.

The Gladwin brothers from Sussex have incorporated the farm-to-table principle into their trendy shabby chic restaurant, the first of three stores in West London. Dishes are prepared using seasonal produce with zero-waste at the forefront of each. Ingredients include foraged, wild, locally grown ingredients as well as sustainable livestock from their Sussex farm. You’ll discover something new to try each day.

Visit Rough Trade if you are Looking for Quality Sounds

The original record store in Notting Hill, Rough Trade, opened in 1976 in the midst of the punk revolution. Today it remains in the same place right next to Portobello Street. While it has opened stores in other British cities and one in New York. The store continues to pioneer independent albums and up-and-coming artists. It also hosts a rare and limited edition collection of vinyl.
