There are so many Great Attractions to See When Visiting London on days out or holidays whether it’s with adults or children. We have visited a few attractions but of course, there are always new places to visit. In this post I will look at some places we have already visited and others we still have on our bucket list.
Great Attractions to See When Visiting London
Shreks Adventure
This was so much fun for the whole family. We enjoyed the fact that Shreks Adventure was interactive and there were loads of actors playing different characters. There were plenty of great photo opportunities to take advantage of too. My mum and I most enjoyed the 4D bus ride just as much as the kids. It made it so much more believable and magical for smaller children.
The London Eye
It’s on the list! My kids really want to take a ride on this but we’ve not managed to get around to it yet. It does sound pretty amazing and it’s clearly very popular having passed it to go to Shreks Adventure and Sealife and seeing people queueing to get on. As I recall, when I was researching discounts to go on the London eye, there are bulk purchase packages available. We are considering a Madame Tussauds, London Eye, SEALIFE London & Tower Bridge Bundle as there are some attractions we loved so much we want to go again.
The London Science Museum
The London Science Museum is a popular attraction to visit when in London. Although it’s free you do need to book your free tickets online due to the sheer numbers that visit daily. At the museum, you will get to see over 3000 objects including a mix of temporary and permanent exhibitions. The Exploring Space exhibition is extremely popular as is the medicine section which covers everything from mental health to epidemiology. Look out for the interactive sections they are really good fun!
Tower Bridge
This iconic London landmark is an extremely popular place to see whilst people are visiting London. It’s a Grade 1 listed building and has the most amazing panoramic views of London. Its amazing Neo-Gothic architecture draws in visitors 363 days of the year. It’s the only river crossing that has survived since Roman times. You can even go and see its engine rooms, which I know my son will enjoy.
Warner Bros. Studio Tour London
Definitely on the wishlist. We are all big Harry Potter Fans so the Warner Bros. Studio tour is somewhere we’re all looking to visit when we can. It sounds like so much fun. We would love to go see the sets and costumes worn by the characters and props used. My daughters even had a costume like Hermione’s dress for the ball in the dress-up box when they were younger. There is even a great hall set up like the one in the movie. The kids really want to see that and see if the ceiling changes like it did in the film.
SEALIFE London
It’s fantastic. The kids spent ages in each section and then when we finished they wanted to go around again. They had the most wonderful time. One of their favorite parts was actually getting to touch creatures in the rockpools. They loved watching the cute penguins swimming about and also enjoyed the interactive sections that are scattered around the various exhibits. SEALIFE is one for both kids and adults.
Madame Tussauds
My daughters really want to go as many of their friends have been. It sounds like it would be very interesting and there are more than 250 figures to go and see. They even have a 4D Marvels Movie, perfect for fans and if it’s anything like the one at Shreks Adventure which I’m sure it will be, it’s going to be fantastic!
London Zoo
The kids loved seeing all the different animals at London Zoo. They were having so much fun they didn’t want to leave. It is somewhere we would consider going back to again as it made for a really lovely day out. The best part was where we could touch animals. The kids were there for ages coaxing out the animals to them so they could feed them hay. It was lovely to see them having such a great time.
St Paul’s Cathedral
This was designed by Christoper Wren after the Great Fire of London. Having seen this in person I have to say it is pretty stunning. This has been the site of many historic occasions including where Princess Diana walked down the aisle. There is plenty to discover and you can even visit the crypt. At night it is lit up and looks amazing. It really is worth hanging around to see it with all the well-placed lighting.
The list could go on for ages as there are so many Great Attractions to See When Visiting London. It’s such a lovely place to visit at least once. We’re looking forward to discovering more places as soon as we can.
