Many of you use Lanyards for work whether you work in a school, office etc. Lanyards are normally extremely boring looking accessories. They are often pretty chunky with a thick strap and a great big clip that screams OMG look at this monstrosity hanging around my neck.
Don’t they look awful?
Given the option I always go for things that are dainty and delicate looking rather than big, chunky and pretty boring! I understand that they serve a useful purpose but why can’t they look nicer? Well actually they can. No longer do I need to be bunched with the masses wearing these sorts of lanyards when I go to a press event. Why is that? No, I haven’t tattooed my blog name on my forehead and I don’t write it in tanning cream across my face a few hours before either, that would just be silly.
I have my own super stylish, dainty and pretty lanyard that is sure to be a winner with many fashionistas around the world.
My Lanyards come from a company called maisie-jane.com who specialise in making them look simply fabulous so that they look like a cross between a necklace and lanyard with their unique and varied designs. These have three key features adding to their usability:
A removable hook, so you can use it with your work pass or on your name badge if attending a conference / event.
Quick release fastening, secured by magnets so if used for your work pass, it will be compliant with most HSE guidelines.
Zip assist, use the hook provided for the work pass on your dress zip! That’s right this necklace can even help you zip / un-zip your dress. Isn’t that wonderful, I think many will get one just for that! It beats having to waiting a forever for hubby to help or for friends to arrive to zip you in and then the fun and games of getting out again after.

Handy though I tend to stick to delicate chains around my neck as I have a slim and petite frame so anything too big and bulky doesn’t suit me.
These work work perfectly then.
I never wear mine round my neck as I hate it so it sits in my pocket but these are stunning x

I love the idea of a necklace lanyard! I used to wear a lanyard at work and you’re right: lanyards are not the prettiest of accessories.

They are lovely and I love that there are soooo many to choose from.
They are a vast improvement. It’s a bit like chalk and cheese when it comes to the standard lanards although I can see a lot of health and safety issues with jobsworths saying the chains could get caught on things and also a lot of companies want you to wear their set colours and designs to make you stand out and represent them?
That’s a shame, although you can have the name badge with the colours and logo so that should still suffice. The other lanyards can still get caught so I’m not so sure they could use that as an argument.

Great idea! We’re big fans of fabric lanyards from Cath Kidson, but these chains are nice. Now all they need to do is re-invent the card holder and make it more stylish!
