The Best Kept Antiaging Skincare Secrets
Guest post. Who doesn’t struggle with their skin complexion and trying to keep it looking young and fresh? And let’s not mention trying to prevent the onset of fine lines… As daunting as this task is, the solution is actually quite simple: invest in the right products and take care of your skin every day, morning and night.

Here are some of the best anti-aging skin care tips and advice.
Rich Moisturizer
The older we get, the more dehydrated our skin is because our glands tend to produce less sebum, thus making the skin prone to dryness and irritation. Fine lines, one of the earliest indications of aging, can also be the result of inadequate skin hydration.
Rich, nourishing moisturizers are the best choice as far as skincare routine is concerned. Look for ones with specific anti-aging properties. Some natural ingredients like algae and aloe vera are super hydrating, as well as creams that contain water-binding humectants, like ceramides, hyaluronic acid and glycerin. At night, you can use something more occlusive, like mineral oil and petrolatum (also known as Vaseline), to prevent moisture from escaping.
A Powerful Serum
Serums are more efficient than moisturizers, as they are very concentrated and antiaging power houses. They contain active ingredients of higher concentration and efficacy. When choosing a serum for antiaging, choose a product that contains antioxidants, like the powerful BL+ Serum from Blue Lagoon for example, that stimulates collagen production and fights free-radical damage.
Vitamin C
This vitamin is a very powerful antioxidant and is considered one of the best ingredients for mature skin. Vitamin C brightens your skin giving it a glowing look, as well as a smooth texture. Also, it helps combat free radicals and sun damage.

AHAs
When it comes to dead cell removal and exfoliation, alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs) are the best. AHAs are very efficient in exfoliating while still being gentle and not dehydrating the skin. Exfoliating once a week is crucial for cell turnover, renewal, and for unclogging pores, thus minimizing inflammation.
Retinol
Retinol also facilitates cell turnover and actually increases the rate at which the skin replaces old cells with new ones. According to research, it’s one of the best ingredients to find the fine line appearance and wrinkles. When approaching retinol for the first time, incorporate it gradually into your skincare routine, starting off with one, maximum two, applications a week and slowly building up to every night. Retinol is very potent and it takes the skin some time to get used to it- but patience will repay with amazing results.
