Yesterday I wrote a post about stress and the various causes that will affect many of us. I thought it would be fitting to follow up on one of the sections – appearance and stress. With constant pressure put on us by the media, peers and ourselves to look a certain way we can really become disheartened if we don’t fit into the airbrushed, stick-thin category. In reality, many don’t, and you’d be amazed how lighting and photoshopping can be used to make the select few look “perfect”.
There are ways that you can help improve our appearance and some will cost more than others. Here are ways that we can really make a difference to our appearance and in turn, boost our self-esteem.

A Winning Smile
Celebs do it and we can too. A great smile is what you’ll tend to notice whether it’s someone on tv or in magazines. You can do so much here from straightening to whitening and more. Although you can purchase all sorts of home kits forwhitening you don’t want to follow in the footsteps of Ross from friends and have teeth that glow in the dark!!! You are better off trying to find a cosmetic dentist in London like my husband wants to or near where you live. He plans on having his “whitened properly” when he gets the chance.
Fabulous Flowing Locks
Whether long or short, your hair is bound to get you noticed when it looks good. I can vouch for that myself. There are so many products that you can use that can give you soft shiny hair you just need to try a few to see which ones work best for you. I like to mix it up a little so I don’t use the same products all the time. One product I really want to get my hands on is the Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner Duo from lookfantastic.com . This duo has some great reviews and will be perfect for when I finish my current shampoo and conditioner.
Glowing Skin
We notice peoples skin especially if it looks good or has obvious flaws. Many products claim to give you amazing skin yet when it comes down to it fail to deliver. The Skin Reviving Face & Neck Serum from Handmade Naturals is pretty fantastic. It is suitable for all skin types and leaves your skin with a gorgeous healthy glow. Combine this with their natural tanning cream and you’ll have healthy sunkissed skin minus the skin damage.
Neaten Yor Eye Brows / Moustache
Whether you go to a beautician to have them plucked or do it yourself a little tidy up of facial hair can really enhance your appearance. Many of us can feel an aversion to facial hair especially on women but it doesn’t take much effort to keep it all under control.
Lips
I hate it when my lips look dry or cracked. Of course, we can simply increase our water intake to help here but many of use like to use lip balms to help nourish and hydrate our lips. Flaking lips really don’t look great, a little lip balm can make all the difference.
What would you suggest to help other readers enhance, improve their appearance ad help boost their confidence?

Taking care of yourself is important and always a priority. Nothing wrong about it. It is one way to appreciate life.
It sure is, and oneway to make you more confident too.
Such great tips and once that are so easy and simple to do, confidence can take a dive in everyone so we all need to take stock and remember these at times
Thanks Samantha. I’m hoping that this will be useful and inspire a few people to make positive changes.
These are really simple tips. I really don’t buy into the media’s definition of perfect because in all sincerity, what is presented as perfection is just a big lie. People no longer appreciate themselves until they tweek thing here and there. Unfortunately, reality still stares at one in the face. I really like your tips! Simple and natural. In summary, be neat and smile more.
I think it’s the simple things that can make a difference. A little tidy up here and there makes a big difference.
Smile is a big factor. Whatever you look like, as long as you smile to others, not only it will boost your confidence but will also boost others
That’s very true Michael. It can really make a big difference.
This is really a very helpful and informative post. Its really to dress amd groom properly.
We don’t always think about how thelittle things will really benefit us. I’m hoping people will find this useful.
I agree with you. There tips are basically telling us to mind our grooming. No need to spend a wad of money to make us feel and look good. Choosing the right products to use, minding our diet, and staying hydrated is the way to go.
It sure is. And a little work can reap benefits and give us all a boost.
SMILE! yes, smiling more often can make a big difference to our health and it can make you more attractive to people.
I totally agree. People are more likely to warm to someone that smiles more than someone that looks miserable all the time.
These are some wonderful tips. Neaten eyebrows and smile boost my confidence indeed!
Ha, Neat eyebrows can really work wonders can’t they!!!
These are some great points to remember. I would add clean and well trimmed nails. As they say, first impression is a last impression!
That could also be added to the list. Clean, well-maintained nails can make you feel great and of course, look good.
The secret to boosting confidence is totally that! A secret! I find any effort I make with my appearance pails into insignificance once I open my mouth!
