(gifted, Ad) Many years ago I made lotions, creams, etc for natural skincare and medicinal use. Since having the children, I haven’t made much aside from a few things here and there and using base products to save time. When asked to review the Top to Toe Creams Kit from Aromantic I was keen to give it a go. The website has a range of great products from ready-made to items you can use to make your own products, recipes, and even courses.
Top to Toe Creams Kit from Aromantic
The Top to Toe Creams Kit from Aromantic includes everything one might require to create three different products. These include a lovely rich hand cream, a light facial lotion, and also a conditioning hair treatment. To these, you can add in essential oils to add additional properties and also fragrance. You may even want to add in other beneficial ingredients such as vitamins but that is completely up to you. The basics are included and from there you can create your own unique product or simply use what’s provided. Either way, you can still create the products.

You’ll get a bundle of items included in the kit:
100g organic shea butter, filtered (soil association certified)
100g emulsifying wax
50ml white poppy seed oil
50ml baobab seed oil
30ml preservative 12
12 30ml clear plastic jars
1 thermometer

digital scales (read from 0.01g upwards)

If you want the products to be fragranced you’ll need to order essential oils, in addition, to add to the products. I also ordered rosemary essential oil so the products could be fragranced rather than plain.
Benefits of The Main Ingredients
The products contain poppy seed oil which is high in vitamin E and helps fight free radicals which would otherwise break down collagen and promote wrinkling, lines, and sagging skin. It also contains omega 6 fatty acid and linoleic acid which have a restorative and nourishing effect on the skin. It is great for any skin type, even those with skin conditions such as eczema and those with dandruff.
The baobab seed oil is great for both the skin and hair so ideal to be used in each of the products. It has a high omega 3 fatty acid content. This oil is great as it has all sorts of benefits. These include antioxidant – helps fight the signs of aging, antioxidant- ideal for those with inflammatory conditions. It has skin rejuvenating and healing properties, moisturises skin, nourishes hair, and more.
Shea butter is great for softening skin and has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It seals in moisture and promotes collagen production, therefore, battling the signs of aging head-on. Great for the skin and hair, it makes a great base for beauty products.
Rosemary essential oil is great for the skin. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, it is an antioxidant, controls oil production, and also boosts circulation resulting in healthy glowing skin. It is also great for the hair. This oil is supposed to boost cell generation. It is also believed to help stimulate hair growth and thicken hair.

Were the Products Easy to Make?
Provided you had all the additional items required the products were simple enough to make. It is quite fun and one might go to say therapeutic to make the products. It’s something that both adults and teens would enjoy making especially now everyone is far more conscious of what is included in beauty products.
It’s also a useful introduction to making such products. Once you’ve used the kit you might like to order more ingredients to create your own products.
What Did I like about the Top to Toe Creams Kit from Aromantic?
There is a varied range available on the Aromantic website. You can buy natural beauty products and also bases to build make your own products.
The kit has plenty of everything you need to make each product at least once. There was enough left over to make some more of some of the items at a later date. Simply clean and save the jars to use when you are ready.
I tried each of the products after making them. The skin products left the skin feeling soft and moisturised. They absorbed into the skin well. The rosemary oil left a lovely light, natural, refreshing fragrance. The facial cream was extremely light yet nourishing, the rich hand cream was ideal for the skin on the hands constantly exposed to the elements and washed 3000 times a day. The conditioning hair treatment was very nourishing and left the hair feeling soft and looking shiny.
Once ingredients running out you can order items individually from the site or another kit and make your favourite items. You can also experiment with different oils. There are plenty to choose from on the website.
Suggestions
With the push by many companies to be more environmentally friendly, I was aware of the use of plastic bubble wrap and also the plastic bag the products were in. Shredded paper would have been a better option. The website doesn’t list ingredients provided in the kit for anyone that might have allergies. It also doesn’t mention the tools you will need to make the items. This would be useful for those considering making products. Other than that there were no other negatives.

I have never tried making my own creams but I love the idea of it. I also love the smell of rosemary and can imagine it would be quite refreshing on the skin.
It’s a great oil for the skin as it has various qualities but it does also smell great too.
