Home Improvements to Freshen Up Your Property

(Collaborative post) So you’ve spent more time at home than ever. You’re probably already considering various Home Improvements to Freshen Up Your Property if you haven’t done any already.

But what are you looking to do?  Will you look to improve a large proportion of your property or just parts of it. Are you looking for a simple change here and there to make it a little different from what you’ve been looking at for soooooo loooonnngggg!!!!!

It’s easy enough to make small changes to your property without breaking the bank and give it a lovely new look you can enjoy for years.

Home Improvements to Freshen Up Your Property

Repaint Your Walls

Repainting your walls in your home can really help give your home a new look and give rooms a new lease of life.  You can opt to do every room in your home, just a few, or even just one. Will you look to use light colours that can make your rooms look larger, will you add a focal wall to any rooms?

Consider Modernising Your Wallpaper

Many of us will want to refresh a room every so often and by modernising your wallpaper you can do just that. You could use the wallpaper throughout the home or just in certain rooms. You may want to create a lovely focal point in a room or simply add a little character. You’ll want to keep in modern especially if there is a chance you may be moving a few years down the line. Take a look at current wallpaper trends (2023) as these will help give you some great inspiration.

Cleaning Doors

The doors in your home will need to be cleaned from time to time which is something many overlook. You might be surprised how much of a difference just a wipe-down of internal doors and doors leading outdoors can make. It’s easy enough to do and what you use will depend on the material it is comprised of. Furniture polish is great on wooden doors, glass cleaner on and glass windows within the doors. It won’t take long to have them looking as good as new and it will barely cost anything.

Adding Storage Cupboards

You will never realise how much storage space you’ll need until you move into your first property. Now you’ve been stuck at home for so long you’ll probably want to free up some space by adding cupboards and placing books, toys, papers away. By doing so, you reduce the visible mess and this can help improve your mental state. Having less clutter in the home can really help reduce your stress levels. You’d be surprised at where you can find some great storage cupboards. We found some great stylish ones at IKEA with adjustable shelving.

Revamp Your Kitchen

On the list of my things to do, right at the very top is my kitchen. When we first moved we managed to lay a new floor but didn’t have the funds to complete the kitchen. Eventually, we will be removing the cupboards, wall tiles and doing a rejig of the kitchen. I’d love to look at using a bespoke kitchen supplier to make sure we make the best of the space in our kitchen as the space available isn’t particularly large.

Improving Your Shower Pressure

You can improve your shower pressure by either cleaning or replacing your shower head. If that doesn’t help you could even look at installing a shower pump or power shower. Why not go all out and install a rain shower. It’ll be like being in a nice hotel each time you use the shower.

Clean Your Carpets

Carpets are lovely. They give a soft cushioned floor that’s comfortable to walk on, but they can retain a large amount of dirt and germs. They even retain smells within the fibres. Cleaning your carpets regularly is important and really does make a difference to the smell and look of your home. You can either buy a carpet cleaner or pay for a company to come and clean the carpets for you.

Summary

There are plenty of improvements you can make in your home. It all depends on what works best for you and is within your budget.

I wouldn’t mind installing a rain shower for the house. I do think shower pressure makes a difference. We didn’t even know we had low shower pressure (you just get used to things, I guess) until my grown kids complained about it on a recent stayover visit. Now I’m considering an upgrade.
