Ask anyone what the most important things they could do with more of in their lives and time or money will be in the top 5. We all have different things that motivate us and are important to us as individuals. Things that improve our quality of life tend to rate most highly.
When people refurbish homes many will look at using luxury vinyl flooring. But why? There are so many flooring options available. What makes vinyl such a popular option?
This post delves into why vinyl has been used in so many homes across the UK.
Easy Installation
Installation of some types of flooring can be a lengthy and expensive process. For homeowners and landlords, the quickest and a far cheaper option can be to opt for luxury vinyl flooring. It isn’t as hard to lay as wooden or stone floors so many will do this themselves saving on the cost of having someone install it for them. Some types can be glued down whereas others consist of planks that can simply be clicked together. Having it cut to fit with measured pieces also saves time on cutting up sections to fit, giving you a straightforward connecting floor that will last.
Hygiene
Vinyl floors are very easy to clean. Simply use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to collect dust and dirt. Dust tends to show up. In order to keep it looking spotless, you’ll need to clean regularly. Giving the floor a mop weekly is good to help remove bacteria and dirt build-up. Expensive specialist cleaning products are not required. It’s best to use a microfibre mop to remove dirt, stains, grease etc.
Cost
It’s common knowledge that vinyl is far cheaper than wooden and stone flooring to buy as it can often be indistinguishable from the real thing and when looked after can last well. As we have mentioned luxury vinyl flooring can also be far cheaper to install with the option of doing it yourself as it isn’t particularly hard to do. Repair can be far cheaper too. Replacing parts of a wooden or stone floor will be far more costly than vinyl where tile or plank options are used. Individual pieces can be replaced incredibly cheaply and without damage or disruption to the floor. As discussed cleaning is easy and inexpensive.
Durability
Vinyl flooring can be extremely durable where installed and maintained correctly. Most will have anti-scratch, stain and moisture properties allowing them to be cleaned easily without the risk of marking or discoloration. If taken care of properly this type of flooring can last 10-20 years or more.

There are many different styles, palettes, colours and options to choose when it comes to vinyl. Not every homeowner is confident in selecting something that will fit within their home. As a result, there are now many specialists in Luxury Vinyl Tiling who can not only advise on styles but also give a feel for your rooms fixtures and furnishings to help you create a living space you’ll enjoy using.

Luvanto is the nation’s favourite option for luxury vinyl tiles. The choices available are stunningly realistic and are guaranteed to result in a beautiful looking floor. The range is again varied with Black Ash, Distressed Olive Wood, polished black slate to name a mere few. These will give a gorgeously stylish and modern feel to any home or office.

sounds practical indeed. I still prefer wood because it gives so much warmth and emotion to me, esp if hand crafted items are chosen
Using vinyl is definitely a great option when you don’t have budget available for anything else like wood, marble or tiles. The rooms still look gorgeous and vinyl is easy to clean.
Vinyl flooring is very nice! I have been wanting to redo my screen room with new vinyl flooring.
I hope you get to now that lockdown is over.
We’ve used it in our home and we’ve no regrets. We cut and fitted our own MDF desks in our office, and to ‘jazz’ them up we added vinyl covering.
It is a great option as it works well in many different rooms.
We use ceramic tile flooring in our home. But another good option is vinyl flooring, less hassle to install.
It really is amazingly easy and fast to install.
I had never thought of vinyl flooring … here in India we mostly use different types of floor tiles. Next time when I change the flooring, I will look at this option. Thank you.
