Create a Luxury Bedroom Look

Over recent years many of us have been working on restyling our home to up the comfort factor. The main rooms we tend to work on are the ones that we will spend most time in such as the kitchen, living room, and bedroom. By improving the set up of the rooms and the items in them we can not only create a stylish look but also ensure the room is as comfortable and user friendly as possible. In this post, we look at how to create a luxury bedroom look so you can make the most of your bedroom space.

Create a Luxury Bedroom Look

Create a Luxury Bedroom Look

When trying to create a luxury bedroom look we need to consider the following:

Firstly, is the flooring suitable, and do the walls need repainting or new wallpaper? Once the basics have been covered you can get on with the fun part – furnishing.

Minimalise

Don’t overdo the additions to a room. This can make it look messy and cluttered which can in turn trigger anxiety/stress. Instead, keep additions simple and elegant.

Rugs

Rugs can be multifunctional. They don’t just look great but they can give your feet a soft landing when you jump out of bed in the mornings. They can also help give a soft, warm surface to walk on if you have stone or wooden floors. Choose a larger fluffier rug for a more luxurious look.

The Bed

If you need to replace your bed this is the perfect time to go with something that will look the part. Consider something with a suitable headboard for a hotel feel or even one with a TV for that added extra bit of luxury. Don’t forget opting for a neutral colour is key. You could consider looking at cream TV beds when trying to decide what to opt for. That will bring up a lovely selection to select from but don’t forget to keep it classy. Simpler designs can often work best.

Sliding Wardrobe Doors

Sliding wardrobe doors bring instant luxury and sleek efficiency to your bedroom. Operating horizontally on a track, they require zero clearance space. This keeps your floor plan entirely open and clutter-free. Choose mirrored doors to bounce natural light and make the room feel much larger. Alternatively, select matte neutral panels for a clean, sophisticated, and minimalist finish.

Throw Pillows

When you visit a luxury hotel you’ll be sure to notice the abundance of throw pillows in the room. This look can be easily achieved at home. Simply add in colour co-ordinated throw pillows above the pillows to help create this look. Match one or two colours to the throw you have if you have one on the bed. Otherwise, look at using a few colours from prominent items in the bedroom to match.

Throws

If you’re adding throw pillows then why not go the extra mile and add a throw to your bed? This could be one or multiple colours but stick to simple designs. If you want the throw to be multipurpose and used to warm rather than just decorative then consider a lightweight material like cotton.

Create a Luxury Bedroom Look

A Mirror

A mirror can really enhance the look of a room. It’s important to choose one that fits well. Full length mirrors with decorative frames can add some glitz and glamour to a room. Equally, a mirror design can work well. A well positioned statement mirror can add to the charm of a room. It’s all a matter of taste and your choice should be influenced by your requirements.

Art Work

There is nothing like a well positioned piece of art to add a focal feature to a room. Opt for something sophisticated, simple and large enough to have an impact. Also, make sure the colours don’t clash excessively with the look you have created in your new luxury bedroom.

Room Lighting

Although you’ll probably already have lighting covered, you might want to consider adding a hanging light feature as a statement piece. Don’t get carried away though. Consider the size of the room and the height of the ceilings when making your selection.

Nightstand

These are always useful to have and are great to keep down the clutter as essential items such as silk face masks, ear plugs etc. can be hidden away in the draws. You could even place a pretty tray on top to keep some of the items you need to hand, conveniently nearby and nicely displayed.

Add Some Plants

Having plants in the bedroom helps make the room come alive. You don’t need many to do this. Just a few on the windowsill or near it so they’re exposed to natural light. This should give the effect you are after. If you’re not the best when it comes to plants consider hardy plants such as aloe. They add a splash of colour to a room and are perfect to help you create a luxury bedroom look.

We are currently renovating my husband’s childhood home, and part of the plans includes extending the master bedroom to include an en-suite, dressing room, and even a balcony. We are going for a bold feature wallpaper, but keeping the rest rather calm and simple. I can’t decide on the flooring though – carpet, or tiles and a rug?

    1. admin

I personally would prefer tiles and a rug, it looks so much nicer although a carpet is nice and cosy.
