Different Ways to Show Someone you Care this Christmas

Collaborative post.

Christmas is a time where we come together with family and friends.  It’s a time I look forward to as I get to get a break from work albeit a short one.  I also get to see people I don’t see often which is lovely as it gives us the perfect opportunity to catch up.  Of course, being Christmas at the forefront of my mind is buying gifts.  So what sort of gifts would you buy for someone to show them that you care however often you see them?

The Gift of Time

A gift that can be as expensive as you want it to be.  The gift of time is a precious one.  We don’t know how much time each of us has here so allowing time to spend with loved ones truly is one of the best gifts you can give.  It could involve a catch-up whilst walking around a local park or going somewhere, the point is that you spend time together.

A Touch of Sparkle

A piece of jewellery can also be a lovely way to show you care.  Who doesn’t love to receive something pretty and sparkly!  Everyone needs and loves a little sparkle in their lives and Christmas is the perfect time to add to their collection.  The important aspect to consider is the recipient’s taste.  If they only wear gold dainty pieces of jewellery make sure you look for something that fits with their sense of style.  Jewellers like F.Hinds have a lovely range of options available with items to suit every budget.  The best part is that when they wear the piece they will be reminded of you and that you cared enough to find a gift you knew they’d love.

A Gift Card/Cash

Gift cards are available for just about every store.  They can be a great way to let someone treat themselves to an item of their choosing.  It’s the perfect option if it’s someone that can be hard to buy for.

I’m not the biggest fan of gift cards myself so generally having had a few expire on me before I got to use them.  I tend to opt for cold hard cash.  A little cash injection can really go a long way and also allow the person to chose something they need or have been lusting over for a while.  Given the times, it might be much more of a help than you can imagine over the Christmas period.

A Lovely Meal Out – The Perfect Gift For Foodies

A meal out can be a nice treat for us all.  Who doesn’t love to eat out and have yummy food prepared and served to them without having to worry about tidying up or doing the dishes after.  The added bonus is you get to spend time together.  Naturally, you’ll know what type of foods they like / can eat, and can allow for this accordingly.   Strapped for cash?  Look online for discounts, 2 for 1 offers etc.  You’ll find having a tastecard handy too for saving you money on a large range of restaurants nationwide.

A Donation to Charity

Some people like to have the money we might spend donated to a charity.  Often these will be for a charity like cancer research or to help someone they know via a just giving page.  Either way, it’s something that is close to the person’s heart and a gift that will be appreciated.

What sort of gifts would you give to show someone you care this Christmas?

The gift of time is such a lovely idea and one that suits all budgets too! I’m going to talk to my children about this and make sure we give the gift of time to someone this Christmas 🙂

Some fabulous ideas here, the gift card idea and the gift of time is what is more practical but this Christmas I know a lot of people have asked for a donation for a charity of their choice.

Great ideas here I love the idea of a gift of time, that is priceless and can mean so much to someone especially who lives on their own or just does not see you often x

I have given vouchers before for my time which has worked really well. Sometimes all people want is a coffee and a chat

The gift of time is the most precious! Just spending an hour or so with a loved one is better than anything wrapped up

Lovely ideas! Each year as a family we choose a charity and donate to that, often instead of cards that get thrown away once Christmas has finished! Gift cards are also a fab idea, especially for those tricky to buy for friends and family members lol!

I think experience things are always nice, like take them out and do something together be it an activity or a meal x

The gift of time is certainly a great way to show friends and family you care. I always try to spend some time with them especially over the festive season.

Those are lovely ideas for this Christmas. I’ve tried donating to charities in the past and maybe I’ll do it again this year as well.
