Mums do so much so we need to help encourage them to take that well earnt me time. Whether they enjoy a relaxing bath with bath bombs in a candlelit bathroom or watching movies or both it’s important to help facilitate some time for mum to do as she pleases. That’s why I’ve collaborated with Fox to bring you a list of great movies to suit all tastes.
These will make a great stocking filler or gift for mums this Christmas or for a birthday and can be enjoyed over and over throughout the year.
Fab Movies for Mums
The Favourite
A black comedy (who doesn’t love a comedy) set in the early 18th century. Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) is on the throne. The story follows the relationship of two cousins Sarah Duchess of Malborough (Rachel Weisz) and Abigail Masham (Emma Stone) who compete to be the court favourites. I’ve heard this is a really good movie from a few other mums I know and I’m sure it’s one that many are still to get the opportunity to see.
Bohemian Rhapsody
Rami Malek plays Freddie Mercury in this biographical drama about the singers life. It follows Freddie through various stages of his career and how he reached international rock star status. It’s a great movie to sing along to especially when folding up the washing.
Murder on the Orient Express
Who doesn’t love a good murder mystery! Based on the novel by Agatha Christie the story follows Poirot the famous detective as he attempts to solve a murder on the Orient Express. Will he succeed before the murderer strikes again?
The Duchess
Keira Knightly stars in this story about 18th-century aristocrat Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire. Her crowded marriage is said to parallel that of Princess Dianas. Although an intelligent woman adored by the country she soon discovers her husband has no love for her and is only after an heir.
The Greatest Showman
The only movie from the list I have managed to see myself so far and one I would highly recommend. This follows the story of P.T. Barnum who creates a business from nothing and becomes a worldwide success. The songs in this are fantastic and there are great performances from Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Zendaya. It’s one of those movies you’ll want to watch over and over and sing along too. The great thing is it’s child-friendly so perfect for a family movie night. Many children will know at least one song from the movie even if they haven’t seen it.

Your Special Occasions
Feel like reminiscing? Why not watch one of your old movies, maybe it could be your parent’s wedding, a christening, a party or something else. If you no longer have an old vhs player you can send your movies off to companies like Digital Converters who can convert them to DVDs or digital copies and send them back to you within a few days.
These are all great Movies for Mums to enjoy. So grab them a movie, make them some fresh popcorn and sit with mum on the sofa with a chocolate share bag and enjoy a great movie together.
