As a mum of 3, I’m always looking for things that will keep the kids entertained. The challenge nowadays for most parents is to reduce screen time so they will always need a good selection of toys that can help encourage them to go outside and play. It’s important for children to get outdoors for various health reasons, both physical and psychological. As some of you will be aware, I’ve collaborated with the amazing Wicked Uncle in the past and shown you a range of their great toys from their site. I’m at it again, but this time I’m bringing you my Top Outdoor Toys For the Summer.

Nature Fun Pocket Swing
If you go down to the woods today you’re bound to have a really good time with a Nature Fun Pocket Swing. When you do venture out with the kids to a local park or simply have some trees in your garden, the nature fun pocket swing is just what you need. It is a great product for kids to use to enjoy time outside. The swing is easy to transport and is simple to use. This can also be used as a cosy place to lie down and read a book, or sit, relax, and enjoy nature, watching the birds, butterflies, and other wildlife flutter and buzz around. It’s suitable for ages 5+
Rollin’ Wave Premium Bubble Machine
This is really good fun and there was no way this would not make my Top Outdoor Toys For the Summer list. Kids love bubbles and honestly, I’ve seen adults and the elderly all get in on the action as well as some cats and dogs. They’re so much fun and great for the whole family. The Rollin’ Wave Premium Bubble Machine from Wicked Uncle is really good fun. This is a great machine and super easy to use. The bubbles are a great size and you’ll get loads out of this. The rolling wheel means you will have endless bubbles until the bubble mixture in the tray runs out.
I love that with this machine, that once you’re done, you can pour the excess bubble mixture back into the bottle using the handy spout at the side of the machine where you also add the mix. This comes with a small bottle of bubble mixture but you’ll need to get hold of 4 AA batteries to be able to use the product straight away. It’s suitable for ages 3+.

Sureshot Crossbow
This is a toy my son has his eyes on. The Sureshot Crossbow comes with a target so you can hone your precision skills. The 25 cm target has point zones with different scores so kids can practice getting the darts as close to the centre as possible and challenge themselves each time to get a higher score. The Sureshot crossbow is a great toy that has a massive 10 metre range and a front and rear site to help kids with their accuracy. It is also ideal for playing with siblings or friends. Challenge each other to see whose the better shot! How many points will you get? The darts have suckers at the ends so are safe for little ones to use. This is suitable for ages 6+.
Jumbo Octopus Kite
Giant Bubble Set
Another bubble making toy. This great kit comes with two bubble wands. One of these makes enormous bubbles and the other loads of little rainbow coloured bubbles. The two bubble wands come with a tray and 230ml bottle of bubble mixture to get you started. This is a lovely gift for any little ones that loves making, chasing, and popping bubbles. It’s suitable for ages 6+.
Bungee Hopper
This is really good fun and a different version to the sitting down hoppers I grew up with. Kids can literally bounce around on this toy that is a cross between a hooper and pogo stick. The padded base is made from exceptionally soft foam. Each time the child bounces on it the foam base makes a squeaking sound. The stretchy bungee cord allows this to be used by a range of ages. It also has softed padded handles making it really comfortable to use.
Kids will love bouncing up and down and adults will enjoy the squeals of laughter as well as watching the kids tire themselves out!!! Hopefully, you’ll get them to bed earlier. Parents tip: Challenge children to see how long they can bounce on this toy nonstop. If you go all out and give a prize they’ll want to play over and over, and they’ll be in bed super early. Added bonus: this is suitable for outdoor and indoor use so you can still tire them out if it’s raining outside!!! Recommended for ages 5+.

Smart Ball
A great toy for all football fans the Smart Ball is a great football that not only lights up, it also counts your keepy uppy score up to 100. Kids will have great fun keeping the ball off the ground using their feet and knees to bounce the ball up and focus on not dropping it. The ball lights up with every touch. Play on your own or challenge friends. The built-in speaker calls out your score which can encourage you to keep trying to get as high a score as possible to beat your previous score or your opponents. This can also be used to play various ball games. Simply remove the sensor and add the bung to make it into a normal football. Batteries required. Recommended for ages 6+.
Egg and Spoon Race Wacky Wooden Set
Little ones will love playing with the Egg and Spoon Race Wacky Wooden Set. This not only encourages children to compete against family members and friends it also helps get them moving. The toy is great fun and can be used both indoors and outdoors so you can play come rain or shine. The game is also perfect for parties!! It’s easy to play. Simply place one of the brightly coloured wacky faced eggs on one of the wooden spoons, line up, and on the count of 3 race to see who will be the winner. It’s good fun and completely mess free too. This is suitable for ages 3+.
Sonic Booma Boomerang
Super popular with kids of allllll ages from 8+. This “Wicked” toy is a great one for use in large open spaces. The tri-blade boomerang has a flight range of between 15 and 20 meters. As it whizzes through the air the boomerang makes a whistling noise. It returns back on every through, try it and see!!! The boomerang provides hours of fun and also strengthens those arm muscles. Once you’ve mastered it with one hand try and see if you can challenge yourself to do it with the other.
Waboba Wingman Flying Silicone Disc
Another throwable toy, the Waboba Wingman Flying Silicone Disc is also a fun toy and another perfect for large open spaces. Take it to the park, the beach etc. This will get kids moving and is a fun toy to play with a sibling or friend or multiple people. You can even play piggy in the middle with this or create your own fun games. The 15cm silicone disc with its aerodynamic design can travel in a straight line for up to 40 meters. It’s squishy, easy to catch, and can be folded to fit easily into your pocket, bag etc. The material this is made from allows it to spring back into shape after folding. Kids ages 5+ will love playing with this.
Atomic Power Popper
Another toy my son really wanted was the Atomic Power Popper. This toy doesn’t need batteries just child power. Children use a hand pump action to reload each ball. This is easy to load and fire. Kids will find once they get used to the pump action that they will pump it faster and shoot both faster and further. This can shoot the foam balls up to 20 feet. The Atomic Power Popper comes with 12 super soft foam balls. Although it doesn’t come with targets, you can make your own or simply use siblings like my son did. The foam balls are super soft and you can barely feel them hit you. The more you use it the better a shot you’ll become. Once you’ve mastered still targets, try moving ones.
The toy is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and is for ages 4+.
Fire Fighter’s Water Sprayer
This great product is ideal for imaginative or creative play. It also doubles up as a plant waterer and water pistol perfect for little mischief makers. The Fire Fighters Water Spray is 32cm wide and has two adjustable straps and it buckles around the waist easily. The toy is extremely light and comfortable when worn. The sprayer has easy to use pump action single and multi spray functions. With the weather getting warmer by the week it’ll be just what the kids need to have a water fight and cool off. It is certainly worthy of being included in my Top Outdoor Toys For the Summer guide. This toy is ideal for ages 3+.
Instant Table Tennis
Parents will love this just as much as the kids!! The instant Instant Table Tennis with a retractable net can be used on any table that is up to 75 inches wide and 1.75 inches thick. It’s easy to store, use, and transport meaning you can use it almost anywhere. This comes with two bats and two ping pong balls. This is a lovely game to play for all the family and also ideal for playdates. The instant table tennis set is guaranteed to get everyone moving but also having fun at the same time. This is best for ages 8+.
Exercise Dice
Something a bit different but also really good fun is Exercise Dice. I know, an odd choice but children that enjoy being active will enjoy playing with/using these. They can work well used individually or in groups. The dice are simple to use. Just roll them to see which activity will come up and how long/ how many you need to try and do. You can race others where you are asked to do reps to see who can finish first. Kids and adults can create their own fun little exercise routine with these. Will you get 20 reps of squats, 60 seconds of walking lunges, or 10 push-ups? There are potentially 36 combinations. The two dice are made of wipe-clean vinyl foam which is lightweight and perfect for on-the-go fun.
Game Controller (Milk Chocolate)
With all the fun children will have with all of these fab toys they’ll be sure to build up an appetite. Don’t forget to grab a yummy snack from the site when you are shopping for toys. The Game Controller is a lovely choice for kids and the young at heart. This well presented 12cm 100g chocolate treat will go down well with the kids especially ones that enjoy playing video games. Its precise design and of course the chocolate are just what kids will love.

So I love all of the items on here and all would go to my grandson Oliver who is almost 6. If there is anything that is too old for him now, then I will put it away and keept til he is old enough!
All the toys and products on here are such lovely gifts and would be so played with by Oliver and some are great to play as a family – I love the egg and spoons that looks like fun, and I know hubby will love to teach our grandson to play table tennis as he was an expert when he was younger!

For my son I would really like to get him a Robot in motion toy as I think it would benefit him greatly to be able to help build his own robot as he is obsessed with them lately and constantly talking like one. I think he would also like the Skyrail wall marble run as he is always watching marble runs on Youtube kids. There’s been a lot of questions about gravity.

What an excellent list of outdoor toys! The Nature Fun Pocket Swing really grabbed my attention as I spent many happy hours on the swing that dad built in our garden: I love the portability of this one.
Who could resist the The Rollin’ Wave Premium Bubble Machine? There is something about bubbles that appeals to all ages.
There are a few items I like the most on the Wicked Uncle website – The Jumbo Octopus Kite would be perfect for my nieces and for breezy days in the park or down at the beach. Love the butterfly garden kit – we’ve done this before and was so interesting watching the grow and setting them free. My kids would love to do it again!
