Mysteries in Time History Subscription Box

Making learning fun isn’t an easy feat.  Many of us have been tasked with home schooling or if we want to be more precise crisis schooling.  The pressure has been on to cover work sent home from school and also add in some fun learning activities to keep children’s interest.  This will continue well over the summer break as parents try to teach what was missed at the start of the school closures.

As parents will be well aware it’s not always easy to keep children engaged when we’re teaching at home.  Children much prefer to play with toys, games consoles or chat with friends on the phone and create their own tik tok videos.

Before the schools closed one of my girls was being taught about Ancient Egypt.  To assist I thought it might be interesting to watch a program on tv that I had seen advertised.  Finding different ways to teach children can make learning far more interesting.  Another way to do this is via a subscription box.  There are different types available for children of various ages.

Mysteries in Time History Subscription Box

This is a monthly subscription box for children ages 7-11.

The time machines (boxes) are sent out on the 23rd of each month and cover other topics including The Vikings, Ancient Greece, Aztecs, Ancient Rome, Space and more.

Choose from a classic (£7.95 + postage) or bumper option (£12.95 + postage).  These can be shipped worldwide.

There are various subscriptions available: 1, 3, 6 and 12 months.

Each time machine is personalised.

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.

The Classic Pack

This contains:

An illustrated adventure storybook.

A colourful history magazine with various activities such as pages to colour and puzzles.

In the first box, you’ll discover a free world map and timeline.

Themed bookmark

Sticker sheet

The Bumper Pack

This contains:

The same items as the classic box plus:

A history related gift (these may differ).

History related craft project.

What Craft Project Did We Discover?

Inside the bumper box we received was a fun project where my daughter was able to create her own Egyptian amulet.  This was really good fun. The best thing was as she was careful not to press the colours into each other she could make different amulets.

What Did We Think?

My daughter loved the Mysteries in Time History Subscription Box and enjoyed reading the interesting facts, doing the activities and reading Max and Katie’s Egyptian Adventure.  It was good to have something enjoyable for her to do whilst she was still unable to return to school.  The fact that she found it fun means she’s bound to have learnt something which is an added bonus.

The craft project was my daughter’s favourite part of the box as she loves arts and crafts.  She sat and modelled a range of Egyptian style items as well as hieroglyphics.

what a lovely product, may provide children with some much needed structure after lockdown, without looking like you are forcing it!

What a great idea for a subscription box. I used to love learning about history and I think doing a craft associated with it really helps you remember. I still remember making a canopic jar from a jam jar when we were studying ancient Egypt in primary school!
