Some of the latest HEXBUG Junkbots toys to play with whilst you watch the NEW series.
What Are Junkbots?
Brought to life by alien radiation these great little toys seemed to be a hit with my son. We all know kids enjoy making things from junk whether it’s glueing toilet rolls to cereal boxes or something else along those lines. You’ll discover both single and double trashcans filled with parts that you can piece together to create robot figures and also motorised robots. Each pack has instructions as to how to set up your robot but as kids will be kids they’re going to set them up their way right! And, the good thing is that they can, using the universal socket system.
Junkbots Trash Bins
Dig through the trashbin to discover hidden clues and piece together your own Junkbot. The pieces are interchangeable so you can mix and match to create a whole range of different robots alongside creating the designs on the instruction sheet. There are 15 pieces in the trash bin for you to get creative with. There are 36 Junkbots for little ones to collect and have fun with. These packs have an RRP of £4.99 and contain one robot.
Junkbots Dumpster
Dive straight into the trash and discover even more great Junkbots with the Junkbots Dumpster. These contain 30 different pieces and instructions to create two different Junkbots, or get creative and make something new. You can collect and combine boxes to create hundreds of different variations. Again there are 36 different Junkbots Trash Bins to collect and these have a RRP of £9.99.
Junkbots Industrial Dumpster
These are the ultimate Junkbot construction packs. The Junkbots industrial Dumpster contains a whopping 50 pieces to let you set loose and create four different robots. As children rummage through the pieces they’ll find some great parts to create their Junkbots as well as an energy module and a motion module so they can make robots that move or vibrate or light up. These kits have a RRP of £19.99.
What Did We Think?
My son has really enjoyed playing with these. It’s great fun creating your own robot and you really don’t have to stick to just making those that they suggest on the included instruction sheets. There are some small pieces so this isn’t recommended for children under the age of 3. My son did need help to make the robots on the sheets but was fine when creating his own. He loved that there were so many pieces included in the kits so he had a selection of items to use and you could mix pieces between each pack. He thought it great that parts light up and found the part that vibrated hilarious.

Lol, I think most kids are like that.
We re a family of 6 and we ve not yet come across junkbots, they look and sound great fun, maybe be on their Christmas lists. We spent our Saturday night playing family games or a dvd night, bringing us all together to reflect on the week. I think the junk it’s would also help children understanding a bit about reusing junk and recycling things, which can’t be a bad thing.
It’s something new for us to. It’s good to get children thinking about reusing things rather than binning everything.

What a clever concept! And at such a good time too – it seems like children are really getting on board with the idea of protecting the environment and searching for alternative uses for things instead of throwing them away is critical. Hopefully it will inspire plenty of children to carry this into other things in the future!
