I’ve been using products from the Body Shop for many years. One of my favourites is their lip liner which also works well as a lipstick. I’ve been using the Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream for well over a month and now it’s almost finished I thought I’d let you know all about this lovely product. It’s a product that really impressed me and in this post you will find out why.
Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream
Main Plant Ingredients
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder
Aloe Vera is know for its healing, soothing and anti-inflammatory properties making it an ideal ingredient for products used for sensitive skin. This also has antioxidant, antimicrobial, humectant and anti-itching properties. These many benefits are a compelling argument for why it is the perfect ingredient that is an ideal addition for many skincare products.
Coconut Oil
Another great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, this great oil also seals moisture into the skin and helps promote skin healing. The oil helps increase the natural production of collagen, improving skin firmness and elasticity. It’s another popular choice for a beauty product that has great benefits.
Sesame Seed Oil
Sesame oil is great to help trap moisture within the skin, helping to keep is hydrated, soft and smooth. This also allows it to helps protect against the elements preventing moisture loss and keeping skin looking younger and plumped. The oil contains both vitamins B and E. These help reduce redness and soothe rashes.
Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract
This is also known as Gotu kola and is a wonderfully potent anti-inflammatory making it ideal for skincare products. Alongside this, the herb has antioxidant and antiaging properties. Combined, these make this a lovely addition to a face cream especially allowing it to be used by all skin types from sensitive with conditions such as eczema and psoriasis to normal skin.
About the Cream
Although the cream has been formulated for sensitive skin it works exceptionally well for all skin types. 95% of the ingredients are from natural origin. This cream is vegan and comes in recyclable packaging. It is also dermatologically tested.
What Did I Think
I thought the Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream was great. It made a lovely base for make up. In addition, it added a good moisture boost to the skin. If you fancy a more natural make up free look but with sun protection, the cream can be applied and then a cream with a sun factor applied allowing for protection over the summer months. This day cream kept my skin well stayed hydrated all day. It soothes, heals, reduces inflammation, softens, and it leaves skin looking exceptionally healthy. This has a thick, lightweight, non greasy formula.
A little of the cream can go a long way so use it sparingly and you will find that it lasts for ages. This has a natural scent which is not particularly overpowering and the smell dissipates quickly. The cream is a delight to use and one I would strongly recommend to all looking for a rich, non greasy face cream.
