Are you thinking about exploring a new career? With all the time we’ve spent at home lately we’ve been able to explore things we really enjoy. Some of us have tapped into our creative side and realised that there are other career options that we might like to explore. Ones that let us get a little more hands on and maybe have a bit of fun. This post looks at just a few Careers for Those with a Creative Flair you might like to consider.
Careers for Those with a Creative Flair
Floristry
If you love to work with flowers, this could be the job for you. Floristry is something you can get into part-time initially. You can explore whether it’s a career you might like to then continue and even take to the next level. To get into this sort of career you can be self taught or you could do a floristry course. There are no shortages of weddings, Christenings, funerals, etc so if you are good at what you do word of mouth recommendations will spread like wildfire and you’ll always have work.
Tattoo Artist
Like your body art, great at drawing? If you have a steady hand you might want to consider becoming a tattoo artist. It’s easy enough to get into. You can initially practice tattooing as and apprentice and see where that takes you. It could be a part-time or full-time career depending on how good you are and whether you work for others or yourself.
Artist
Artists use all sorts for their creations whether they are working on canvas or creating large sculptures. If you have a knack for creating beautiful designs then creating your own art could become a lucrative part or even full-time career.

Jewellery Designer
It won’t make you millions overnight but it will earn you those extra pounds alongside your day job. As you become established and start earning more you can then consider whether it is something you want to do and can afford to do full time. The initial outlay isn’t much. All you need is a few tools the relevant metals and stones depending on the type of jewellery you wish to make.
Cake Making
This is a really popular business and there are some amazing cake makers out there. If you plan to do this from home you’ll need to train to get a Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate. They don’t cost much or take long so it won’t be long before you can start baking and selling your cakes. Sell locally or set up a website and sell nationwide.
No matter what you decide to do the most important thing is to find something you enjoy doing. That way you will put in the time and energy required to help get this new career off the ground.

I have always had a secret dream of being a florist. I grow quite a few different flowers and always create bouquets for certain family members on special occasions. Such a relaxing and rewarding activity for me.
It is really relaxing and therapeutic. I do like to organise flowers.
These are great job ideas. I would not be good at any of them. I am terrible with making things!

I’ve always admired those who can decorate cakes. I love watching all those baking shows.
There are some amazing self-taught bakers out there.
I know some people who have shifted from one career to another unrelated career just because they want to put their creative flair to use. One is a make-up artist and the other one is a florist. And they’re making good money out of it!

They are quite different as jobs and great for creatives.
Among all these talents, I prefer learning about cake making. I love food and it seems so entertaining to do.
It can be really good fun. I have found some cakes can take days to make if you need to create sugar paste decorations for them.
I think I am more the type of a Cake Designer. I think it’s so fun and creative to decorate a cake or a cupcake!

These are all such wonderful ideas. My youngest loves art and is very good at it. She’s slowly starting to make these and she’s sold some pieces already.
These a great jobs. I have friends who changed their careers from the office to become florists and cake designers. It might be different from their first career but as long as you are happy with what you doing, why not?

I can sometimes get carried away with materials and how much I actually need. These are great tips to stay in budget.
These are good ideas for creative people but there are so many other opportunities for people who are creative. I don’t have that kind of creativity for some of these jobs LOL

These are very creative careers for those with a creative flair… I would also add blogging to your list. You need to be pretty creative to have a blog. LOL
Have tried being a tattoo artist a few years ago. I had tons of fun collaborating with people regarding the design then actually inking it on the skin. It takes time to design though some already has their own but most of my clients wanted me to create one from scratch which is okay.
