Last September I popped along to Brent Cross when they held a shoptacular shopping event. The evening was full of fun with entertainment including singers and dancers and of course for those that were there to shop the stores had all sorts of special offers available to take advantage of.
Recreating Emma Stone’s and Ryan Goslings Red Carpet Look
This year is set to be just as good if not better plus there will be competitions running and a LaLa Land theme for which I have tried to recreate Ryan Goslings and Emma Stones red carpet look.
Here are a few photos from last years event:
Ahead of the event I was asked to recreate a red carpet look of my choice. I thought it would be most appropriate given the theme to recreate the outfits worn by the stars of the film on the red carpet as seen here.
Now after a bit of running around looking at men’s and ladies stores I found some great outfits that would look perfect on the red carpet.
Dress One
Dress one was from a store called Ariella which has the most fabulous dresses you could want. There are so many dresses in this shop you might have a tough time choosing just the one as they are stunning. There are plenty of dresses suitable for weddings, christenings and of course red carpet events. It was here I found my first dress which really does look very similar to that worn by Emma Stone on the red carpet although longer – handy as the weather is now getting colder (make sure you look at the picture tagged above so you can see what I am recreating). This actually comes with a pretty shawl which is great as you don’t need to go in search of one that will suit the dress. I would like to say a quick thank you to all the ladies in there as they were really helpful and thanks especially to Eleni who is modelling in my picture – the dress looks great on you!!!!
Dress Two
The second dress although not quite the same style but equally pretty was from Anthopologie.
Can’t forget the shoes now ladies can we. What do you think of this beauty from Kurt Geiger? That would be perfect for completing the look.
Gents, I haven’t forgotten you. My mission was not yet compete as I also wanted to try and recreate Ryan Goslings look and so after visiting about 6 or so men’s stores / sections I decided that this from Moss Bros was a good choice.

Of course you do. Here is is being worn by the fabulous Hussain who was a great sport. I have to say if you do head to this store make sure you ask for him to help you as he was very professional, polite and an overall nice guy. The customer service was exceptional. Here you will find everything to complete the look from the suit to the waist coat, tie and even shoes.
For anyone wanting to recreate these looks you now know where to go!
Event Details
This years LaLa Land inspired shopping event will be taking place on Thursday 28th September from 5pm-8pm, with exclusive offers from high-end beauty and fashion stores and restaurants.
Throughout the evening, shoppers will be treated to live performances from renowned Strictly Come Dancing professionals Ola and James Jordan, who will bring the added sparkle to the Brent Cross Shopping Affair. Other entertainment includes a brass band, musicians and dancers performing the award winning musical score from box office smash LaLa Land.
Guests are invited to access the exclusive discounts and be whisked away to Hollywood.
Make a note of the date and time guy and I will see you there!!!!!

That was great fun and I was relieved I found the perfect dress and the other dress looked like one that would also work on the red carpet.

What a great idea, to recreate Ryan and Emma’s looks on the red carpet. You have chosen really well, I love the red dress and the high heel shoes. The Lala Land shopping event sounds like it’s going to be very entertaining, especially with the dance performances.
