My World – Educational Childrens Puzzles and Games

Ever the advocate of fun games, puzzles, DVDs etc. that have an educational slant I was instantly attracted to a company called My World on Facebook.  My World have a range of puzzles and games to suit ages 1.5 to age 7 and their products have won a number of awards since 2009.

After contacting them I was sent 2 puzzles age appropriate for my daughters to try and give our verdict.

Puzzle 1

My World My Wheels

P1120941

By coincidence the puzzle arrived on the day we had arranged a pyjama party so we decided to let all the children have a go at making the puzzles.  This puzzle is suitable for ages 3+ and the children attending were either 3 or 4 (except the little 1 on the right who just made it into the picture).

All the children got involved in the puzzle making and eventually we made all the puzzles.  The puzzles in this particular box were cut in large pieces that were brightly coloured with large joins to make it easier for little ones to put them together.  They have a range of vehicles in the pack to cover all little ones favourites.  It’s no wonder this particular puzzle box won the Practical Pre School and Primary Teacher Update Awards 2013.  These puzzles help to encourage children to develop concentration skills as they need to figure out which pieces go with which puzzle.  Was it mean of me not to separate them out and make it easier for them lol?  Obviously hand eye co-ordination comes into play greatly here to enable little ones to piece the puzzle together.  Communication skill were tested as the children were working together to get the puzzles made.

The next Puzzle was more challenging as it targeted age 5+

Crazy Christmas – Spot the Sillies

P1130117

This puzzle is made up of 100 pieces and required a large amount of concentration.  I did assist by advising the girls to begin with finding the corners.

Then filling in the sides.

And finally the centre, once complete, spot the Sillies.  Your challenge is to spot all 12 Sillies on completing the puzzle including a black and white reindeer, flying pig, zebra on the side of the house to name just a few.  Well you don’t want me to give them all away.

All the puzzles are made entirely from recylced paper and there are hints as to how parents can get the most out of the puzzles to enhance their childs learning experience.

I love the different puzzles available and they are great fun for little ones!
