Pampers® and UNICEF celebrate the 10th Anniversary of their Partnership this year!!!!
Wow, has it really been 10 years since Pampers® and UNICEF started working together, time really has flown by. Since their partnership I have had 3 babies and bought hundreds upon hundreds of nappies and I must admit that pampers are some of the best available on the market
Their collaboration was initiated to help eliminate maternal and newborn tetanus worldwide. This is not an illness that affects people in the West with our state of the art (ish) hospitals and levels of hygiene but it is an all too familiar occurrence for those living in third world countries. It is seen where newborns are infected by unhygienic birthing practices. Once contracted there is no treatment and as a result 49,000 newborns will die every year, that’s equivalent to 1 baby dying every 11 minutes (shocking really in this day and age).
Everyone that has bought the specially marked packs of pampers since 2006 has helped the Pampers-UNICEF “1 pack = 1 vaccine” campaign including me I am pleased to add. Together we have helped to eliminate newborn tetanus in 17 countries. It’s heart-warming to know together we have helped save approximately 500,000 babies. But, there are still 21 countries where tetanus is a major threat.
Emma Bunton has been supporting this campaign for a few years now.
Mums and dads of nappy wearing children can help by purchasing the specially marked packs.
To celebrate their 10th anniversary of the Pampers UNICEF 1 pack = 1 vaccine campaign parenting bloggers have been invited to share their one wish for their little ones.
My wish would be that all 3 of my babies grow up healthy and happy surrounded by family and genuine friends although I would like to add to do their homework without mummy although that would probably be pushing my luck a bit.

Mr Squishys one wish was probably to get a big slice of chocolate cake on his first birthday.
For every view this blog post receives, Pampers will donate the cost of three vaccinations. To add to this they have also created a film which they would love you to watch and share. For every share the film called ‘wish’ gets Pampers will donate another vaccine!!! So simply by opening up this post you have helped donate 3 vaccines a simple share can make that 4. Why not make that 5 vaccines by sharing pictures of your little one blowing out the candles on their birthday – making a special wish is an important action, and for Pampers and UNICEF it will mean a huge amount. For every heart-warming picture you share of your little ones birthday wish on social media using the #PampersUNICEF the cost of 1 more vaccine will be donated.

So make sure you watch and share the video and ask all your friends to do the same, together we can fight to eliminate maternal and newborn tetanus worldwide.

What a great cause and it’s nice to know that tetanus in newborns and mothers has been wiped out in some countries. Wow, a little can do a lot! (Nice cake!)
