Top Tips to Help You Feel Great

(Collaborative post) Everyone needs a pick me up every once in a while. It’s a must for our mental health. Family life can get busy, work schedules can get pretty hectic. One thing after the other pressure can build up and add to our stress levels.  As these build up they can affect our mental well-being. It’s easy to get to this stage if we don’t keep on top of things and we can end up feeling low both mentally and physically. The worse it gets, the harder it is to get back in the saddle and help improve how you feel. There are a number of things you can do to help make you feel better. Take a look at my Top Tips to Help You Feel Great:

Top Tips to Help You Feel Great

Get Tech Happy

Investing in tech is one way that can help to put a smile on your face. If you enjoy TV, think about a subscription service such as Sky Movies, Netflix. You could even check out jailbreaking at troypoint.com to keep costs down. Don’t worry, it is legal!!!  This will enable you to have access to products such as movies, tv shows etc. that would otherwise need to be paid for.  Just be careful what you download, make sure these are ones that are available in the public domain.

Once you’re all set up, sit back and enjoy some tv time on your own, with family and friends.  If you’re having fun, enjoying the programs or films w=you are watching you’ll be feeling positive and happy.

Consider The Way You Look

Feeling good isn’t just mental, it can be physical too. You need to consider what can help you feel better about yourself. It might be investing in a new moisturiser, or getting something more specific like a brightening eye cream or eye masks. Stick with what makes you feel good about yourself. If wearing lipstick gives you a boost wear it, a few coats of mascara and a touch of concealer make your eyes look fabulous and help you feel more confident then use them. Feel you need to lose a little weight, even losing a few pounds will help give you a positive boost. The key is that you’re doing it for you, therefore it’s important to do what makes you feel better about yourself.

Get Physical

Getting outside can do you a world of good. Many underestimate the positive effect of going for walks or doing other forms of exercise.  Not only can regular exercise help you lose weight when combined with healthy eating, it can also make you feel great.  When we exercise our body releases hormones called endorphins that make us feel good.  Being outside in a natural environment can also have a positive impact so it makes sense to get outside to local parks and other natural areas to improve mental health.  Of course, a good set of walking shoes will be vital. Make sure that your footwear gives you enough support for this.

Drink Up

Water is essential for all sorts of necessary processes within our body.  Many of us know we should drink more water but don’t always do so. Sometimes, where we haven’t done so it can make us feel lethargic and this can affect our ability to think and may affect our mental state too.  Portioning a set amount of water to drink at certain times of the day can help reduce the risk of this occurring.

Catch Some Zzzzz’s

The more sleep we get the better we feel.  Equally, when we don’t sleep well we don’t feel particularly great especially if this isn’t a one-off.  Continuous lack of sleep can affect our mood and how we feel about ourselves. Finding ways to promote sleep including a relaxing bath before bed, essential oils, or upgrade to a cooling mattress that fits your sleeping style. The more we sleep the better we feel about ourselves and the more energy we have to do the things we want to do.
