What is Psoriasis?
Psoriasis is a skin condition that affects approx. 1.1 million people in the UK. Sufferers present with itchy, scaly skin most commonly over the knees, elbows, trunk, and scalp. Therefore, treatment is generally just for the skin and not the stress that could cause flare-up etc.
Orthodox treatments for psoriasis include phototherapy – treatment with UV light, Systemic treatment – oral or by injection, and topical treatment – not always pleasant as quite often steroids are prescribed. The Body Butters
There are 4 available in the range. Each has been formulated for a specific purpose. The ingredients have been perfectly combined to focus on healing, hydrating, softening and hydrating or evening out skin tone, and pigmentation and reducing fine lines. All the body butters are made from the finest natural ingredients that are cruelty free, vegan friendly, glueten, paraben, silicon and toxin free. Products are ethically sourced and made in the UK. The body butters can be used externally wherever they are needed. They absorb well into the skin and are not sticky or greasy.
Exfoliating Soap Bars
Again these are packed with great natural ingredients. The soap bars gently exfoliate the skin removing dead dull skin and increasing the circulation to the area leaving it looking fresh and with a healthy glow. These soaps are SLS and paraben free, vegan friendly, and hand-made in the UK in small batches.
Candles
When treating a condition that can have a psychological impact you are best to treat both body and mind. With these candles, you are able to do just that. Burning a candle in a room can be quite therapeutic. A scented candle can be chosen specifically for the effect. Sona has 3 candles available on the site at the moment. You can select from: Golden Hour which is perfect for reducing stress, Evergreen – ideal for relaxing the mind, and Blossom -just what you need to comfort and uplift.
Candles have a burn time of between 25030 hours. They are made with 100% Soy wax and natural essential oils. Soy candles are a far better option than paraffin candles as they are much cleaner and produce 90% less soot.
What Did I Think?
I loved that these products are packed with effective natural ingredients, they are free of any nasty chemicals, cruelty free etc. I also love the combinations as Sona has identified natural ingredients that work well to help with psoriasis and made what appear to be her own unique formulas. The body butter is lovely and leaves skin feeling soft, smooth, and nourished. You don’t need to use much either to achieve the desired effect. The exfoliating bar is very gentle on the skin and leaves it feeling cleansed and doesn’t dry it out. With the other products helping to treat the body, the candle is a great addition to the range allowing for the treatment of the mind alongside that of the body.
