I do love Aloe Vera.  In fact I think so highly of it’s that I wrote an in depth medical paper on it many years ago at University.  The uses for this amazing plant are endless and it can be used in a vast array of products to enhance their results.  Having carried out a bit of research one of the best companies providing Aloe Vera products is Forever Living.  Their products are Aloe rich and use good quality Aloe Vera that they extract themselves.

I was looking for a product on twitter to trial for hyperpigmentation caused by pregnancy and was contacted by a rep from Forever Living.  They suggested a product called Epiblanc.  Many women are affected by Hyperpigmentaion during pregnancy in varying degrees.  It is also known as the mask of pregnancy.

Outside of pregnancy this condition is generally caused by sun exposure but during pregnancy it can be due to both sun exposure and hormone related.  Hyperpigmentation can occur on various parts of the body but those that are publically on show can cause the most distress and embarrassment.  I normally would just wait until baby has decided to pop out and then trial skin lightening products just because with some the contents are not always such that you would want to be pregnant or breast feeding when you use them and can be quite harsh on the skin.  With the Forever Living products however I felt very comfortable trialling the products whilst pregnant.

The main product I was to trial was the Epiblanc which works gently to even out skin tone making it appear brighter and thus reduce the appearance of dark patches.  This comes in the form of a gel that is simple to apply and absorbs well into the skin.  The Aloe Vera helps the gel to pass through the skin past the fats in the outer layer into the deeper layers of the skin and is why I would normally also use Aloe Vera gel as a base when I use essential oils.  I noticed within about a week and a half a difference in the patches and now having used the product for 5 weeks have noticed a dramatic change in my skin tone.  There are still patches but these have taken over 5 months to develop so to have had the improvement that I have noted within the specified time is fantastic!

With the Epiblanc I was also sent a tube of Aloe Sunscreen Factor 30 and a bottle of Aloe Hand and Face Soap.  None of the products appeared to have a particularly overwhelming aroma.

The Aloe Hand and Face Body Wash was brilliant.  It appears to have a high saponin content which you can see by the fact that you don’t need much for the bubbles to form.  This is also great for people suffering from skin conditions such as eczema and can be used by both adults and children.  This product not only moisturises but also cleanses the skin and can even be used as a shampoo.  With a pump-action dispenser this product is easy to use and it is also easy to control the quantity of the product dispensed so waste is minimised.  After use the skin feels lovely and soft and smooth.  This product seems to last for ages!

The Aloe Sunscreen has a SPF of 30 and blocks both UVA and UVB.  It absorbs well into the skin and acts as a great base for makeup whilst also protecting the skin from the suns harsh rays.  It’s water resistant formula continues protecting the skin for 40 minutes after water activity.
