Activity Gifts Ideas for Christmas 2020

If you are looking for a special gift to give to your significant other this Christmas, I have some amazing ideas for you to consider. Since March, most of us have missed the opportunity to go out in the world and experience things outside our own four walls.

The greatest gift might just be simply to give your loved one the opportunity to go and have a lovely day out with you in the New Year.

Here are a few Activity Gifts Ideas for Christmas 2020 that will help you make them feel special and allow them to get out too.

Activity Gifts Ideas for Christmas 2020

A Picnic in the Park

This is a great way to spend time with someone in a nice relaxed environment.  You can spend as much or little as you like on the items you buy.  Simply gather some of their favourite food and drink, plates, cutlery, cups, napkins and you are set to go.  Don’t forget to consider any dietary restrictions they may have.  Ensure you take foods that are easy to eat in such an environment.  You could even create your own afternoon tea with your choice of drink to wash it all down.

A Holiday

Let’s face it, after the year we’ve had we all need a holiday!  Many of us have been under considerable stress and our mental health is suffering considerably. A lovely way to help us relax our minds is with a lovely break.  There are all sorts of different types of holidays but my ideal holiday is a relaxing one.  I would love to visit one of the most popular beaches across the world.  I’ve gifted us a holiday once before and that was UK based so I think it may be time to consider something more further afield, possibly tropical.  It would certainly be something to look forward too.

A Concert Date

If your loved one has a favourite artist or band, why not see when they are next on tour in your city and book some tickets? A concert can be a wonderful place to go and enjoy.  We don’t tend to do these things often and it’s such a wonderful experience for them to see their favourite artist live.

A Theatre Visit

If they love the theatre, going to see a show would be a special gift for them.  This year why not take them to see a show like Wicked. It’s full of fun and adventure.  Just the thought of getting to dress up and go out will probably be appealing to many. When you go to the theatre you will be able to order a glass of wine to enjoy during the show!

A More Involved Activity

If you want to do something new and different to make up for the lack of experiences you have had this year, why not consider something like go karting or clay pigeon shooting.  A fun experience such as this can be a great way to bring you out of your routine and make you try something fun and new.

Summary

I hope my Activity Gifts Ideas for Christmas 2020 post has helped spark your imagination and get those creative gift ideas flowing.  When choosing activity gifts it course makes sense to look at the giftees taste.  Is there anything they have their heart set on doing? Is this something that is in your means to arrange?

I love giving the gift of an experience over something needless. Creating memories together as a family or with friends is so special. I am writing a similar post because I think it is such a lovely and thoughtful gift.
Plus Wicked is AMAZING! I loved it, what I wouldn’t give to go and see it right now!

You’ve made good suggestions, particularly for couples. I’d enjoy several, and will keep them in mind for the future, after Covid.

I love getting experience gifts for Christmas but I think experience vouchers are better this year because we don’t know when shows and events will actually come back after the pandemic x

Lovely activity ideas here. In all honesty, I cannot wait for a holiday – as soon as it’s safe I’ll be hopping on an aeroplane.

Such a fabulous ideas of gifting activity themed gifts compared to normal gifts. I think this is such a wonderful gift to give as the person enjoys the experience more. I would love to see Wicked

Great list of ideas for gifts. Think it can help to have something nice to look forward to and after this year we all need that in the new year.

I’ve always wanted to go and see more shows, Wicked in particular. We’re still in Tier 3 though at the moment.

I would love to visit a panto. I haven’t been to one since I was a kid and would love to make it one of our Christmas traditions.

      Have fun!

I think the picnic in the park would be my budget this year….would love to gift a theatre gift but Cumbria doesn’t have a lot to offer when it comes to theatre….we travelled to Glasgow one year for their pantomime which was amazing and would consider doing it again when the pandemic isn’t ruining Christmas for everyone!

The picnic is a great idea and you can easily distance from others too.

  15. Julia Kerr

Good ideas. Thank you. One of our favourite activities is visiting a village, town or city that we haven’t visited before. We hop on the bus or train, have a wander around the place looking at any interesting sights, sometimes we look at shops but we always stop for a coffee or a bit of lunch before heading home. We are missing those relaxing days out so a treat for us would be to plan the next few as soon as we are permitted to do so.

some great ideas here , thanks for these i could use some for birthdays

  19. Laura Wheatley

These are great ideas, I really struggled with my girls this year as they are getting older now, a pile of toys just doesn’t cut it (why do they grow up so quick??)

  20. Rebecca Walker

these would be great but unfortunately covid has reduced us to a dinner and thats about it

  21. Susanne Galley

Great suggestions here for activities. I agree with you that we need to make time for activities along the Christmas stress. We always go to the Panto on Christmas eve though sadly cancelled. I would love a holiday after Christmas or even during Christmas, great suggestion

  22. Jeanette Leighton

Good Article some great activities to choose from

  23. Laura Corrall

I love this, I really do think a day out together will hold so many lovely memories more than a gift that doesn’t really suit the person would. We got a merlin pass and whilst we can’t use it yet, it really is giving us so much to look forward to when rules are eased.

  24. AJ

Oh I’d love a theatre trip. Here’s hoping it’s safe by Christmas 2021(!)
