Book Theatre Tickets via your phone?

I enjoy spending evenings out with my friends and shockingly we had not been to the theatre in a while (slaps wrists) so we decided to pop along and see a show that my friend had on the top of her wish list ‘Miss Saigon’.

I was in charge of booking tickets (of dear, let’s hope I get the right show, right time and don’t totally cock it up was what went through my mind).  I booked the tickets through TodayTix the theatre ticket app.  Why?  Well they sounded great when I looked them up online!  TodayTix can get you discounted tickets directly from theatres and from what I could see you could get into any show you wanted!!!!!  The tickets are guaranteed so there is no worry about whether you will get in or not either and you can book for the same day.  It takes about 30 seconds once you have the app on your phone to book your tickets.  After tickets to a sold out show?  Simply set an alert and you will be contacted when tickets are available.  There is a ticket lottery that you can enter daily in less than 10 seconds on your mobile avoiding all ques.  Plus, you can even get credit for spreading the word.

 Putting it to the Test

Ok, so I’m not a whizz on the computer but I get by if I put my mind to doing something I generally get it done.  My biggest problem is when doing new things on the computer / on my phone etc. I lack confidence.  Anyway, I got TodayTix up on the computer.

It simply said ‘Enter your number to receive download link’ so I did.

Within seconds my phone pinged and a text with a download link had been sent via text message.  I clicked on the link and it took me to the google play site to install the app.

I was relieved by the ease of installation and you get messages telling you that you are making progress.

The app even popped a short cut button on my home screen so I could find it straight away.

You need to register fully with a credit card in order to book tickets. Then all you do is select the desired show and the date, choose the price of seat you want (there is a £3 booking fee), the app will select the best seat available within that price.  Once confirmed an email is sent to your registered email address.  Your tickets are available for collection from the theatre box office 30 minutes prior to show time.  We popped along to a fabulously close and absolutely amazing restaurant for a quick dinner before taking the 3 minute walk out of the restaurant to collect our tickets with absolutely no fuss or problems.  What a super service is all I can say and I know who I will be using to book my tickets for my next theatre trip.  The show was brilliant and you find yourself on an emotional rollercoaster as you are taken through the twists and turns of the story.  Both the leading actors were fantastic, the girl/lady was exceptionally good.

And this guy, The Engineer was fantastic.  If you have yet to see the show then this is really one (adult only) to go and see but hurry as it closes on the 27th of February 2016.

Make sure that the next time you book your theatre tickets it is through TodayTix and as an added bonus get 10% off your first order with this code: ZFSPW

In case you do go then make sure you check out a fabulous restaurant that is just two doors away from the theatre called Dozo.
