AD When tasked to buy for a specific age group, unless you currently have a child that age the chances are you don’t know what to choose. The top most wanted toys change each year and it isn’t as simple as we’d like to keep up with the current must have toys. As a mummy of 3 and someone who gifts plenty of their friends and their cousins, I’m going to focus on Gifts for 8 year old boys in this post to help you cut out the stress of gifting this age group.
Gifts For 8 Year Old Boys 2021
So what do 8 year olds want to do most? Well, that’s easy enough, to have fun!! With schooling starting to get that little bit harder they want to make the most of their time at home, playing and having fun. Here are some of my favourite toys that would make great gifts for 8 year old boys:
Game Controller – Milk Chocolate £4.95
We all know kids love sweets but add in a super cool game controller shaped sweet treat and they’ll be over the moon. This 12 cm chocolate game controller made from milk and white chocolate comes in its own presentation box. A great addition to a gift or a stocking.
Retro Sweet Box £5.99
Stuffed to the brim with fizzy, foamy, gummy delights. You’ll even find flying saucers and candy necklaces and more, perfect for any sweet lover. Another great item to help bulk up a gift or add to a stocking.
Push-n-Popz – Bubble Fidget Toy £10.95
Fidget toys are still really popular and over the last months I have watched as more and more options become available. I think my kids may have most now. This super cool fidget toy is a great sensory toy. The silicone is soft to the touch and can be pushed and popped. It’s the ultimate asmr toy for kids. It can also be used to play a simple logic game that improves clever strategic thinking. And to add to the fun, it glows in the dark!!!
Wicked Pranks & Jokes £16.95
Ideal for this age group, this particular set contains jokes, pranks and a booklet to guide you in setting up the various pranks included. It’s perfect for pranking friends and family and makes a great gift that is reasonably priced.
Air Shot – Floating Target Game £19.95
This is great fun. How do I know, ha, well we have one of course. It’s great for hand-eye coordination and it’s so much fun to challenge others to see how many balls they can hit. I’m not the best shot, but as your skills improve you can adjust the height of the balls to make it more challenging. A great game for a wide age range.
Mini HORNIT – For Bikes & Scooters to Sound £19.95
This super fun light will make sure your little one is having fun as it also makes 25 animal sounds. This product will be on my son’s Christmas list to Santa when he writes it. The mini hornet can be easily attached to the handles bars of a bike or scooter. Noises it makes include a Police siren, motorbike, horse, elephant a lion’s roar and more. There are 3 volume settings. There is a green and white light and these can be set to flash or stay on constantly.
Ultra Dash £22.95
This is a great game that my kids love to play with each other, their friends, even I get to play with them. It can be played indoors and out outdoors and is not just great fun it’s also good exercise. This game can be played with a few players, alternatively, you can play against yourself and try to beat your time.
Alien Slime Lab £25
Slime is still really popular amongst this specific age group. You simply mix the alien slime and then conduct tests to investigate its special properties. Suck up the slime with a syringe, roll it with a roller, this is another great asmr toy for children to enjoy. You could also create your own glow in the dark alien specimen. Then dissect it with tweezers and a plastic scalpel! Explore the slimes’ different colours, glowing and colour-changing effects and glittery components using the handy 24 page guide to help you.

These are some great ideas! I think that slime set would give kids a lot of hours of fun. The Wicked Pranks & Jokes sounds a lot of fun as well, especially that this age group is just starting to get interested in pranks.
