For anyone that has reached this stage I really do feel for you.  Almost everything aches and simple tasks are not always as manageable.  You more than likely will have been given or at least offered a sweep and if that has failed the next step is chemical induction which again does not always work straight away.  All is not lost as hospitals will not normally allow women to carry for much further as there is an increased risk to the baby due to the reduction in optimal functioning of the placenta.  A caesarean is normally used as a final resort.
