At 21 weeks I am now over half way through the second trimester, yaaaaaaaayyyyyy. Little Squishy isn’t so little anymore now at around 27cm and weighing about 360g and I read somewhere it is about the size of a carrot (although they do come in a multitude of sizes).
It’s having a great time in there bouncing about and kicking and punching! It feels like Squishy is doing summersaults at the moment as there is still plenty of room for it to move about.
Although the sickness has eased up it is exacerbated by tiredness so plenty of rest is a must although not so easy in practise when you have two children already and have housework to do. I am now trying to increase the amount of exercise I am doing although this is mainly walking and the weather really isn’t helping. I am finding that I cannot stand outside the school and chat to the other mothers at pick up and drop off as long now as the weight if the whole bump is noticeable and on occasion I have also found that I have become dizzy and felt faint.
The baby’s brain is developing and so I am eating more oily fish such as salmon, anchovies and mackerel.
Now is the time that the second scan will take place and the sex of the baby will be determined provided of course it does not cross it’s legs or hold the umbilical cord infront to hide what it is! Make sure you catch my next post which will be revealing the sex of my little one!
