Lacura Suncare Extra Water Resistant Sun Lotion 50+

As you know from my previous posts I do love my high sun factors.  I generally wear factor 50 all year around on a daily basis even when it’s cloudy.  When choosing a sun protector you need to look for a product that contains UVA and UVB protection.  Star ratings on products refer to the protection from UVA rays.  The damage from these is not always visible as they show no immediately obvious damage like redness.  These rays penetrate deep into the skins surface and cause serious damage like premature ageing.  UVB rays on the other hand cause sunburn which can lead to some forms of cancer which is why you need a high factor.

Although some of the more expensive creams can smell amazing most of them work just as well as some of the cheaper ones such as the Lacura range from Aldi.  I recently started buying their Extra Water Resistant sun lotion for kids.

This cream is nice and thick, is easy to apply and the one I chose had 50+SPF UVB and a 5 star UVA rating so I know that my children’s skin is well protected.  If rubbed in well it doesn’t leave a white film on the skin either although it can leave the skin on the hands a little greasy but I simply rubbed this elsewhere so remove the residue.  I of course reapply after the little ones have run around and sweated or after swimming and thankfully I have no sunburns or redness to report.  I bought a few tubes on my last visit to Aldi but plan to buy a few more to last me through the winter, these seem to last ages which is great.

Aldi have some amazing products I’ve noticed. I think it’s important to remind people to wear SPF daily wherever they are!

It’s true, you can burn on a cloudy day.

I love the Lacura range! I tried the face wash and it’s really good for my skin! Go Aldi!

I haven’t tried that yet, one for the shopping list!!!!

Aldi has some awesome skincare products. Never actually used their suncare products. They are such affordable items too, might have to start buying more Aldi bits.

That’s what I have started to do too.

  4. Rhian Westbury

You can’t beat a good sunblock for the summer, especially if you are very pale x

    1. admin

That’s very true, I avoid sitting in the sun where possible too.

  8. Christine Dodd

Not tried Lacura but being freckly I need to slap on the high factors so maybe I should check it out.

    1. admin

This one ticks all the boxes so it’s worth trying.

  9. Jemma

I haven’t tried this brand before, but it does sound good!

    1. admin

I liked the cream and it kept our skin from burning.

  10. Maya Russell

Good to know about. It is pointless buying the more expensive varieties when it generally goes so quickly when it’s sunny sun time.

    1. admin

You need to look at the amount of protection each cream offers before buying.

My mum uses Lacura facial cream and swears by it! I think Aldi are seriously under rated for their beauty products!

    1. admin

I think so too, I am trying another at the moment, results will be up soon.

    2. admin

I think they may be too, this cream is really good.

I need some of this. I burned like a lobster recently after applying SPF 50 (a different brand) – I do not think it does what it says on the tin! I wonder if this brand is more effective.

This is good, I use it on all the family including my husband.

It is important to wear sunscreen, even on cloudy days. But make sure you are getting your Vitamin D from the sun, which is the best way of getting it!

    1. admin

That’s true, it’s best to get vitamin D naturally 😉

I buy this for the kids to keep in their school bag – it’s so cheap but it works x

    1. admin

It does a great job, better than many pricier ones.

  15. Sarah Bailey

Ohh I’m going to have to look out for this – I really need to get better at using sun screen! x

You will be pleased you did when you’re older Sarah.

  16. Fashion and Style Police

Sounds fab. I need to pop into Aldi once I get the chance.

    1. admin

      It is a lovely suncream.

  17. Rachel

I always wear an SPF too, even if it in my skincare or makeup, I ensure I can get as high as possible x

    1. admin

Unfortunately many in make up are not high enough. I combine mine with my face cream before applying make up.

  18. Baby Isabella

We tested some new sun lotion for kids the other day and this looks like a good cheaper alternative. Perfect for a backpack!

    1. admin

These are great as they work well and are fairly priced.

  19. Natasha Mairs

I read an article about sun cream recently and it doesn’t matter what the price is if it’s says it’s factor 50, then thats what it is, there is no difference in the protection

    1. admin

This one is well priced too so that’s even better x

  20. Hannah

Haven’t tried this brand before – will have to check it out!

    1. admin

Happy shopping Hannah. I hope you like the cream.

  21. Tanya

I am all about the Factor 50! People write Aldi off a lot but they do some great products

    1. admin

This cream is really good just remember as with all you must reapply.

  22. Claire

I need to buy some sun cream, I might try this!

    1. admin

Happy shopping, you will love it Claire.

  23. The London Mum

I didn’t know that Aldi did suncream for kids- and with those ratings it’s good as well!

    1. admin

It is brilliant, I use it on all of us.

  24. Angela Milnes

This sounds like a good brand. I always use sPF 50 especially since growing up overseas in the sunshine. They sound like a good price too!

    1. admin

They are very well priced which is brilliant.

  25. Amy Deverson

I’m always burning on cloudy days as I forget you need to wear sun cream then too! I’ve invested in a good foundation with built in SPF 15 now so that protects my face on these days 🙂

    1. admin

I’d use a higher factor personally on my face as it is exposed to the sun more.

  26. A

That sounds great! I’m not very confident about buying suncream, so this is a really handy find.
