Buying Kids Gifts Made Easy

Ad. Buying Kids Gifts Made Easy.  Because let’s face it, it isn’t always, is it! For some buying gifts for children can be hard and for those wanting to get the right thing, pretty stressful too.  This post should help guide you in your gift selection to ensure you get something the child you are buying for will really love it.  On their site, Wicked Uncle have some fabulous children’s presents for all ages and with a range of interests.

Knowing what a child likes obviously helps but if you are gifting a child that isn’t yours, it’s much harder.  Even more still if you are gifting a niece, nephew, grandchild, friend’s child and haven’t a clue what they’d like.

In this post, I’ll write an overview of the sort of toys that will literally make you a Wicked Uncle, Wicked Aunt, or Wicked grandparents.  So if you want to be popular with the kids you are buying for, this is the site for you.

  You can thank me later.

So what do we need to consider first?

Buying Kids Gifts Made Easy

The Childs Age

Obviously, when gifting we need something that is age appropriate.  There is no point giving a child a toy they are far too young or old to use. It’s just upsetting for them if they can’t use it yet and may even result in a meltdown with younger children.

For younger children, creative gifts often work well. Toys that encourage hand-eye coordination, cognitive skills, role play can be popular.  Not only are they educational, but they are also often colouful, enticing and enjoyable to use.

The Child’s Interests

When gifting a child in general it helps to know what they enjoy.  Are they creative?  Are arts and crafts the best thing ever for them???  They are top of many children’s lists for fun things to do. Do they enjoy sensory play? (sand, slime etc.) Do they love any specific type of toy, eg dinosaurs, dolls, cars?  Don’t forget some of these interests overlap which is fine as some toys may incorporate more than one interest.  Keep an eye out for those.  If it’s someone that you’d speak with before you’d need the gift, ask them what they’d like or ask their parent.  If they’re not sure, fear not, the tips in this post will help.

Educational or Fun Focused

This is something you’ll need to weigh up depending on how well you know the child.  If you have your own children they may be able to help shed light on the giftees toy preferences.  There are many adults that will push at educational toys and totally overlook the fun factor. That is a big mistake.  What the child will class as fun.  There are many toys that will work well.

How Many People is the Gift For?

If you are looking for a gift that is intended for more than one child, selection becomes harder.  Age will influence this.  Children will need to be of similar ages for this to work well.  Ultra Dash is one of those toys that is suitable for a range of ages.  I found it great fun too, it’s brilliant exercise!!!  This had us running around, laughing, and away from screens last summer and part of the winter.  The game can even be played indoors if you have space.

Single Use Toy or Toys With a Longer Lifespan

Toys differ greatly.  Some toys can only be used once, others multiple or infinite times.  The choice is ultimately yours as to which to go for and again is something that should be influenced by the child’s preferences rather than your own.

Summary

The beauty of using a site like Wicked Uncle is that they have an extensive range of options to choose from.  You can have the item sent directly to the recipient, saving you a trip to the post office.  Seriously have you seen some of the queues outside them!!!

These guys help take the stress out of gifting with an easy to use site, categories designed to make choosing gifts easier, the option of specifying when the gift is delivered, quick and efficient service and amazing feefoo reviews to support this (93% of customers rated them 5 stars!!!).

Each gift includes a free message which can be selected during checkout.  They also include a special Wicked Uncle Thank You postcard with your name and address already on it so they know who the gift is from.  If you prefer, there is an optional gift wrap service, you can also add a handwritten card should you require.  There is a small fee for each.
