Do You Spend Too Much Time Online?
Being on social media is a big part of running a modern business. But if you’re spending too much time online, you take your eye off the ball elsewhere. You can interact with your audience one on one, and get some good engagement, but you’ll also have to ensure that all the background work is done. How long has it been since you looked at your product? Is it still a desirable product? What are competitors doing? Can you improve on your product to boost desirability? Do you know what’s going on with your cash flow right now? Are your books up to date?
Have You Created Some Followable Goals?
The one thing every small business needs to focus on is its growth goals. What are you aiming for? Where do you want to be in 3 to 5 years time? Because without having these clear questions to answer, who knows where you’ll really end up? And, even when you’re putting the hours in, you won’t be using them constructively without a proper plan in place.
So it’s time to set a goal or two, whether they’re detail-focused or look at the big picture. If you’re not sure where to start, a proper OKR implementation strategy could be of use to you. This is ideal if you need something actionable to work towards, that has clear milestones to hit. With no target to hit, you won’t have anything to show for all your hard work.

Have you made sure that your business is secure? There are various threats to a business whether they are online threats or physical threats. Having goals can help keep you focused and as you achieve them one by one it motivates you to push on and aim for higher.
Maybe you need to spend less time out on weekends, for example? Maybe you could clump those errands together and do them in a more time-efficient way. Check your schedule and see if you could squeeze a bit more time out of it. If you can dedicate enough time to your business it will have a lot of benefits.
Putting time into your business is one thing, but using that time effectively is equally important.

You have some great ideas here. I know I try to limit my time online–I know too much time online is never a good thing. You need to be present.
That’s very true. Some do get a little lost in it all.
I totally understand the time commitment involved in running a business. My first blog, turned into my very first business. My ex sold it and so I’m starting over. Because I have the knowledge, I do try to make sure I add in family time to my schedule.

Taking risks and willingness is very important for me when starting a business. It shares a fair share of risks but you just gotta take it.
Taking risks can be a part of any business. We just need to be careful which ones we choose to take.
There are so many things to consider when starting a new business! I think it would be easy to focus too much on one aspect and let the others slide!

There certainly can but it shouldn’t stay like that.
I think that for new business owner is important to have a strategy , a short term strategy and a long term one. It’s important to follow it and to find out what it’s not working in time.
That’s true, you need to stick to this but adjust it where necessary.

Starting a new business can be stressful. I know as I used to run a shop. You do have to put an enormous amount of time and effort in at the beginning and money too!
That is true but if it goes well you will find staff and get the money and more back.

It sure is. This is something that happens initially but dies down as the business grows and you are able to get staff or outsource some of the work.
