With space being an issue in wardrobes, suitcases, etc, it helps to have outfits that are multifunctional. I do love to look out for such items as my wardrobe space is minimal plus it’s great to have the option of using items more than once when I go away on holiday as it cuts the number of items needed. You can literally mix and match all items of clothing to create a great variety of outfit options. I am drawn to feminine pretty styles of dress and love to find ways to make them work as a day outfit and then switch them up to make them into an evening outfit. Here we will do just that. So, without further ado, I bring you, One Dress, Two Ways.

One Dress, Two Ways
I take care when selecting dresses as they need to fit my style. Dresses need to be feminine, pretty, and to my taste. I’ll look for something that I can see myself feeling comfortable in and wearing for various occasions.
For this reason, I was drawn to the Crinkle Maxi Dress over on the Cotton Traders website.
Crinkle Maxi Dress
This stunner has it all, a flirty feminine flow when worn and a beautiful classy style. It’s the perfect Summer and Autumn dress. The bust darts help to give a good flattering shape and the elasticated back allows for stretch and comfort. The v neckline is flattering to the female form, accentuating the area gently. The appliqué lace at the front and tiers to the skirt add to the pretty, classic appearance of this dress. The length is perfect to shade legs from the sun in the day and works well to complete the figure flattering ensemble for an evening out. The colour option I would suggest for this outfit is the navy although the khaki is pretty too.

Day Time Style
Alongside the dress, combine the following items to create the ultimate, chic, feminine daytime outfit you will love wearing due to its fabulous style and comfort.
Cushioned Jewelled Sandals
A wardrobe staple ideal for warmer days, these pretty sparkly sandals are not just pretty but also extremely comfortable. The back strap is elasticated to allow you to slip them on and off easily. The cushioned inner makes them comfy to walk on all day. Available in both black and rose gold each option looks worthy of adorning the feet of any sun loving goddess. For this particular outfit, I’m opting for the rose gold coloured sandals as the colour complements the rest of the outfit well. These are currently on sale so head on over and get a pair of your favourite colour, or one of each.
Straw Flower Shoulder Bag
A good bag for daytime use. The size is perfect to fit all your essentials and extras too. In the day, you’ll need to carry around more than in the evening including sun cream, snacks etc. You’ll fit everything in here, although I’d suggest leaving out the kitchen sink. This cute, textured straw bag with flower detailing has vegan leather straps. It can be used for a day out at the beach, shopping, and other daytime engagements.
As you can see, it is simple enough to create a lovely daytime outfit with just a few gorgeous items from Cotton Traders. As you’ll see below, it is equally as simple to do the same for the evening.
Evening Style
With a little jazzing up the same dress can work exceptionally well in the evening too. My choice was the navy dress but as mentioned there is a khaki version that is just as beautiful.
Espadrille Wedge Sandals
An important part of any outfit is the shoes. How many of us have a variety ready and waiting to be used for just the right occasion? The espadrille wedge sandals with their slingback style and peep toe and stunning and come in both navy and tan options. This allows you to choose to match or contrast with the dress. The key is flexibility and you’ll find these will work well with a range of outfit choices even jeans. My suggestion, grab one of each colour. You simply can’t go wrong with these. The buckle fastening with elastic allows you to adjust the shoes to your requirements. There is also a stripe insole to help keep feet comfortable all evening. The heel is the perfect height to give you a little boost and also to help make the legs look more defined. A wardrobe stable for both Summer, Autumn, and mild Springs.
Leather Plaited Belt
A lovely accessory that complements the outfit, the leather plaited belt works well in either of the two colour options available. Choose from black or tan. To make your decision take into consideration your chosen shoe colour and whether you’d want something to blend in or stand out. With the navy dress, both belt colours look great. If combining with the khaki dress, my preference lies with the tan coloured belt for a fabulous contrast that works incredibly well. Both are made from leather with silver buckles that are just the right size.
Pointelle V-Neck Cardigan
This pretty scalloped frill hem cardigan is light weight and is designed to flatter the figure. Its super feminine design makes it a great cardigan to partner with numerous outfits from dresses to jeans. It is a great option to pair with either dress colour choice. The cardigan comes in khaki and cream so you could buy one of each to easily switch up the outfit from one day to another saving wardrobe space or suitcase space.
This two tone contrasting black and tan faux leather bag is stylish and can be easily adjusted to the users’ required length. This bag has a zip-top closure, something that will often influence my bag choice as it helps keep values much safer. The internal zip and slip pockets are perfect to keep valuables tucked away. This is also available in a vintage green and tan option but for this particular outfit the black works perfectly.
