Whether you’ve been with your partner for some time or are looking for the most unique first date, you might not be inspired by the stereotypical ideas. Going out for a yummy meal, watching a movie at the cinema, etc can be fun but let’s face it, after a while these things get a bit boring. Sometimes doing something a little different can make going out on a date so much more exciting.
Here are some Different Date Activity Ideas to Inspire You:
Try a Cookery Class Together
We all enjoy eating different types of foods. What if you could learn to make your favorites for yourself? There are many options for cookery classes and I’ve been to a few for press events. One of my favourites in London is Food at 52. They have numerous classes covering a great range of cuisines including Italian, Mediterranean, Asian etc. The kitchen is well equipped and nicely spaced out so you can see the teacher.

Discover an Art Fair or Visit a Museum
Do you both love art? If you do, why not discover an affordable art fair! A wonderful way to spend some time together whilst viewing beautiful pieces of art. It’s a unique idea that’s bound to please any art lover. Alternatively, you could spend a few hours together wandering around a museum, looking at the various exhibitions!
Go To A Theme Park
This date idea is incredibly underrated for adrenaline-junkies. With so many theme parks to choose from across the country including Chessington and Thorpe Park, you’ll easily find a theme park that suits you. It’s a different way to spend the day together and having fun doing something you both enjoy can be a great bonding experience. You will find all sorts of deals online that can help save you money if you are low on funds.
Play Laser Tag
For those active, competitive fun-loving individuals laser tag is a fantastic idea. To add to the experience go with a group of couples you know to increase the fun factor. There are plenty of laser tag venues dotted across this country to choose from, with various mazes and quests for you to enjoy!
Enjoy a Comedy Night
Who doesn’t enjoy a night of laughs? Perfect whether it’s your first or 100th date, a comedy night will put a smile on your face and start the evening off wonderfully. Available around the world and cheaper than attending a professional’s comedic performance, a comedy night is the ultimate opportunity to see brilliant new talent, whilst enjoying your partner’s company. It’s also a good way to start the night as you can go on from there and enjoy a few drinks or dinner at a local restaurant!
Go to An Interactive Theatre Show
I’ve been to a few of these now and have to say they are really good fun. The ones I visited (The Wedding Reception & Faulty Towers The Dining Experience) were interactive although not excessively so. There was a meal provided and drinks could be purchased separately. The actors would run around the room around us performing and also include diners in the show adding the hilarity. Highly recommended and makes for a fun day out, just remember your not going for the food, your going for the show!
Break Out of An Escape Room
With the growth of options for adult escape rooms continuously growing alongside their popularity this would make for an interesting, challenging and fun date. Want to make an impression? This will do the trick. An option for either a couple or a few couples to add to the fun it’s up to you.
A Little More Intimate
Of course, if you want something a little more intimate then a home-cooked meal or takeaway, a picnic or something simpler is guaranteed fun too and can be worked around any budget.

Great tips here, although living in walking distance of Chessington that is somewhere I avoid lol. We do love art and had some lovely afternoons at The Tate Modern, love a good comedy club as well
These are some great date night ideas that are a bit different from the norm. We usually go to the cinema or go for a meal so it is nice to have some other options.
I love these suggestions. We have been making sure we get some alone time together away from our home working. It is really helping us to stay focused on us despite being under each other’s feet all day.
Can’t wait to be able to get out and date again properly.

Lots of great ideas of things to do once we can get out again after lockdown. Hubby and I enjoyed going to comedy clubs but we don’t get much time together as we have limited with childcare.Theme Parks are normally one of our days out with the kids 🙂
I think a comedy night is a great way to share a date! As we can’t go out at the moment, watching comedy shows and plays online is a good way to forget what is going on in the world and have a good old belly laugh

I wish food52 did some online classes. I can’t see it on their website but may look on their social media. Nothing like some cooking therapy. This is the time to be experimental for sure. Love the ideas on here
I definitely need a date night with my husband once all this is over, as working from home and homeschooling kids 24/7 can be so stressful. These are some great suggestions.

Great ideas! My husband really wants to try an escape room but I am a total wimp when it comes to anything scary lol! We usually just opt for a takeaway and a movie.
