As the due date approaches I am trying not to think about the actual birth of little Squishy. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait to finally be able to hold him but I am terrified of the actual birth having been through it twice and had quite a traumatic time with each.
Squishy is quite an active baby but some babies are more active than others so don’t compare your babies movements to other mum’s to be that you may know. He is growing rapidly and boy don’t I now it! Now about the size of a butternut squash, by the time he reaches 40 weeks he will almost double or even triple in weight. Everything has now full formed organ wise but will continue to develop further until he is born. Watch out for those knees and elbows as the size of bulges poking through will be much larger.
A goods night sleep is now almost impossible to achieve and pillows are a must to help reduce pain and also acid. Walking can also be much harder especially if the little one presses on a nerve. I am finding that I am getting even more forgetful and sometimes by the end of the day if it has been a busy one stinging along a sentence can be a chore. Luckily my girls go to bed between 7pm and 8pm so I am now going to bed with them and find that it really does help.
Keep the skin on your abdomen moisturised to prevent it feeling itchy it really does help and products such as bio-oil can reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
Constipation, this will now be occurring more. Eating yogurt with live bacteria will help here as well as a diet that contains adequate fibre. Remember plenty of fruit and vegetables will help keep you more regular and also help provide much needed nutrients.
