Going on holiday can be great fun for children.  They love to discover new places although trying new foods might be a big ask for some as many parents will be aware.  If you are booking yourself into a hotel then of course it will go without saying that it will help to make sure there is a good kids club.  These can ensure that your children have the most amazing holiday and you get a little R&R all at the same time, bonus!  All inclusive holidays are also a good idea as meals and drinks are covered and prices can be quite reasonable most often saving you money in comparison to half board or room only.  You can find cheap all inclusive breaks at places such as Holiday Gems.

Some of you may have read my previous post on Visiting Torremolinos: What You Need To Know. This new post about Torremolinos is aimed at those planning to visit with children or the young at heart, directing you to places you might like to go during your stay.

Crocodile Park

Who wouldn’t want to go and visit a crocodile park!!!  A quick tip – book online and you can save yourself a few euros.  Here you can hold baby crocodiles and meet the biggest crocodile in Europe!

Torremolinos Aquapark

This is open from May to September and if you book online you can get a discount on tickets.  I believe you should also be able to get money off vouchers at the airport when you arrive, just keep your eyes peeled.   If you have little ones around toddler age then aim for the aquatic mushroom or children’s paradise.  There are plenty of fun rides for older children and adults to enjoy too.

Torremolinos Beaches

Stating the obvious but this location is known for the lovely long golden sandy beaches and seriously, where better to take the children?  It’s the perfect location for a fun inexpensive day out.  You can take a picnic and spend the day there or get there early before the sun is at it’s strongest and then go grab a bite then back to the apartment / hotel for a siesta / swim before venturing out for the evening or staying at the hotel to catch the entertainment.

La Parque Batería

This is the largest park in Torremolinos.  There is also a large lake there where you can hire a rowing boat, or if you fancy something a little less strenuous or at least for the adults let the children loose to tire themselves out at the children’s play-ground.

Paseo Maritimo La Carihuela

The promenade is a great place to take children in the day or evening with the various souvenir shops to browse through.  Shoe and bag lovers will be in heaven.  There are plenty of toys for children to buy too. Feeling peckish or thirsty? You can grab an ice cream or drink at one of the numerous shops, restaurants or bars.  Fancy a long walk, this will take you all the way from Torremolinos to Benemadena – I know I’ve done it!  I’d suggest making sure you have a pushchair for little ones.

Molino de Inca Botanical Gardens

A great place to visit with all the family.  This botanical garden has an old flour mill, plants and flowers, a Japanese garden, ponds with fish and aviaries with exotic birds.

There are plenty of other great things to do nearby with children should you wish to go a little further afield than Torremolinos.  As mentioned Benamadena is in walking distance and there is plenty there to keep families entertained including Tivoli World – a great little theme park for children that I used to visit often myself many years ago.  There is also a Seaworld, I’ve walked past this on numerous occasions but never ventured in.  Of course there is much, much more to do in Benamadena but we can save that for another blog post.

Is Torremolinos somewhere you would consider visiting?
