With Autumn upon us, the days getting shorter, and the cold slowly creeping in it’s nice to have a mini refresh in the home.  Just a few little touches here and there can help us to add add some Autumnal colour and at the same time add some gorgeous on trend items to our collection of home accessories.

Now we all love good quality products as well as a bargain so I decided today’s post would feature products from www.juliancharles.co.uk/bedding/type/throws because have just about everything you could need plus they have a sale on at the moment which is an added bonus.  It gets better, I also noted they do free delivery on orders over £49 that’s a win in my books.

Throws are a great way to add a touch of colour to a room and they can come in so many colours and different fabrics too to make them that bit more exciting.  You can use throws on your bed or sofa to give it that super stylish and sophisticated look They are great on sofas as protectors or something to snuggle under when watching a movie with the children or your partner or even on your own.  Reds, browns and beige colours are perfect for the Autumn season and help give the home a different, warm and inviting feel.

For those with a tight budget the Super Soft Warm Fleece throws are perfect.  At the moment they are on offer with 71% off and cost a mere £10.  I know it’s a bargain!!!

The Dakota Luxury Faux Fur Throw looks lovely and soft and really does have a luxury look and feel to it.  This looks ideal to snuggle under and would also look wonderful on a bed.  What do you think?  It’s a little pricier than the other at £50 per throw but I can see myself using something like that for years.  Even more exciting is that it comes in a few different colours!  I was instantly drawn to the chocolate and the stone ones for this season.

There are plenty more throw styles available on the site in a range of colours so do take a look.

These are not just great from an impromptu cushion fight with the children.  They can also add a burst of colour and are great to hide behind when watching a scary movie.  Reds, browns and oranges can really brighten ups a room and are a perfect fit for this season.

The Dakota Luxury Faux Fur filled square cushions would go perfectly with the Dakota throws again in the chocolate or stone.  These would look great on a sofa or a bed.  If like me you are a tactile person these will appeal strongly as they look super cuddly and strokeable and are just the thing for mini people to lay their head on when watching tv with mummy.

For those looking for a deeper, richer colour then the gorgeous purple of the Elegance Lia Mauve Luxury Embellished Duvet Set is perfect for you.  Purple is a great Autumnal colour you only need to look at the leaves to see its a great fit for the season and this  set certainly has a shade that stands out.  The addition of the silver and diamante trim gives it a more luxurious and sophisticated look.  It doesn’t stop there, you can get a beautiful matching throw (£64), boudoir cushions (£14) and also square cushions (£12.50) to complete the look.  After all that you have a bed that wouldn’t look out of place in a modern, stylish hotel.  The only thing missing is a chocolate on the pillow at night.

Candles & Diffusers

Candles can be a great way to gently add some light to a room and give it that super cosy or romantic feel.  Fragrances for the Autumn season can overlap with those of summer and winter.  For those that really want to give their home an Autumnal themed fragrance the Lemongrass and Ginger Yankee Candle will give that warming fragrance.  Prefer a diffuser?   Try Orange and Bergamot another fragrance that has a warming feel to it.  The orange is an overlap fragrance bringing with it memories of both summer and winter (think oranges covered in cloves at Christmas).  This scent is available in various forms; candles are currently down to £10, diffusers to £12 and also room sprays available for £6 now is a great time to stock up to see you through the Autumn period and to the start of the Winter.

Photo Frames

Rose gold is the colour of the year.  This colour really has grown in popularity and fits well with the Autumn colour theme too.  I could easily see myself popping a row of the Rose Gold Metal Frame picture frames (5″ x 7″ £9.99) at angles, with pictures I have taken of the children over the year to create a different look for my living room mantelpiece.

The mantelpiece can be dressed in different ways over the season and although I love the idea of a row of the photo frames I would also consider mixing it up a little by adding in a vase with flowers in the middle with the photo frames on either side.  Change the flowers every few weeks to create a different look.  Personally I prefer real flowers to fake.  There is nothing like a gorgeous bouquet of flowers strategically placed in the home and it can help you create a stunning focal point.

What accessories would you add to give your home an Autumnal feel?

  1. I was just looking at throws and bedding last week! I love all the ideas in this post. Making your home cozy for the colder months that are coming is something I plan to do. I will be indoors more, watching Netflix on a snowy day.

  2. These are some lovely ideas for making your home ready for autumn, I love bringing in candles and of course throws myself.

  3. The Dakota Luxury Faux Fur looks so cozy and I love the shades they come in. My current throw is far too thin for the autumn and winter cold so I need to invest in a more heavy duty version. I also need more cushions because, well, who doesn’t need more cushions? This post has given me a serious urge to revamp my entire living room.

  4. I love autumnal furnishings! For me it’s lighting my fairy lights and candles and snuggling under a furry faux blanket!
