Each of us knows at least one individual that isn’t easy to buy for.  They either seem to have everything already or don’t seem to like anything you buy even when you feel you’ve found them the perfect gift.  it doesn’t matter what you get from the latest gadgets to the most luxurious bath products, whatever they want they buy it for themselves, and so it can feel impossible to know what to buy them for birthdays and Christmases. Just what do you buy the person that seems to have everything?

I have to ask myself this question quite a bit and I’m guessing I’m not alone.  Here are three gift ideas that might inspire you, they could be the ideal gift for the more difficult to purchase in our lives.

Experience Gifts

With a growing number of experience gifts to choose from you are more likely to find something wonderful and dare I say, it something they might not have had the opportunity to do before.  Experiences can make amazing presents as you can search for things that interest the intended recipient and go from there.  Experiences can create incredible memories that can be treasured for a lifetime.  Simply looking forward to going somewhere and doing something can be a big part of the experience and add to ones enjoyment of it all.

An experience also gives you the opportunity to bond with the person in question.  The bonus is there are so many different experiences to choose from that you can doing them every Birthday, Christmas or on other special occasions.

My dad mentioned a little while back he would love to go on a helicopter ride.  He’s long forgotten the conversation but I haven’t.  The plan is try and book this for his next birthday.  My parents love to travel so after a google search I discovered that https://www.penninehelicopters.co.uk/ would probably suit him the best with numerous flights over well known parts of the UK he could combine it with a nice relaxing break for him and my mum.  It’s on his bucket list if he has one that’s for sure and something I know he’d love to experience at least once in his lifetime.  He’s always loved gorgeous scenery and how better to see these than from the air.

Of course, there are many other types of experiences that will make a great treat for whomsoever you purchase them gift for.  For example, if you are purchasing a gift for someone who is a foodie and afternoon tea or a meal at a nice restaurant (more Michelin star that a basic chain restaurant) would be perfect, if they love music, you could to book tickets to a festival, a concert, or a musical.  There are also many amazing sporting events that take place throughout the year, as well as other unique activities and occasions, including adrenaline-filled activities, for example, riding a luxurious sports car or scuba diving. The list is endless, and so you will have no trouble finding something to wow your friend, partner or family member with.

Charity Donation Gifts

Another very thoughtful and unique gift that you could give someone for their birthday or any other occasion is a charity donation.  There are so many charities out there today, which support a wide range of causes.  You are sure to be able to find something that has a personal connection with the person you are buying the gift for, for example, if this person has recently lost a family member to cancer, then you may wish to make a donation to the Cancer Research charity. There are also charities that deal with any type of physical or psychological condition, as well as charities that are dedicated to helping people deal with loneliness.  I have a friend that has asked me to do this at numerous times when I ask her what she would like as a gift for birthdays or Christmas and it’s a lovely selfless gesture and can make a difference to others no matter ow little your budget.

Subscription Service Gifts

Subscription services have become very popular over the past few years. It seems that you can get a subscription for anything nowadays, whether it is a beauty samples box, craft gin, or anything else.  Personally I had no idea where to start as I haven’t really reviewed many of these but I found a nice comprehensive list that you might find useful here: https://www.nbcnews.com/better/health/subscription-box-every-single-person-your-list-ncna831181.   You can thank me buy writing a great comment on the bottom of this post lol xxx.

There are subscriptions for different types of people, including foodies, animal lovers, those who enjoy crafts, parents, fitness fans, and those that are obsessed with fashion. You should have no trouble finding a subscription that appeals to the person in question.  Subscriptions are available at varying lengths; from one month, to several, to a year, which is handy and if the recipient loves it they can always extend the subscription themselves.

So there you have it, three great gift suggestions if you are looking to buy a present for someone who has it all.  There is no denying that it can be difficult to buy a gift for someone who has the fortune of being able to buy everything they want and need.  But, if you think outside of the box and avoid going for a traditional present, you should have no trouble finding something that makes a great impression.

Do you know someone who is difficult to buy for?  If so, which of these suggestions would most suit them?

  1. That afternoon tea is just stunning! Talking of charitable gifts one of my favourite gifts my mum has brought me is a tree that has been planted and protected in my name. It was perfect for me and I can visit it etc

    1. Oh wow that sounds lovely. There are so many different things now you can buy that are really different which is great.

  2. I like the idea of experience gifts. Those can provide memories the person can keep with them forever. Subscription boxes are a unique idea as well. It’s like multiple presents (depending on how long the subscription is) in one! I’m going to check out subscription boxes for my mom’s birthday coming up.

  3. I also have the same problem — gifts for someone who has it all. Thank you for sharing it. These are brilliant ideas. My favorite is the experience gifts.

  4. I love this gift idea list for someone who has everything. I really needed some clever ideas, thank you for this extensive list of creative ideas!

  5. I do have this doubt a lot of times, what to get for someone who has it all: and now I know, great advice and loved all the options!!

  6. Those are all lovely gift ideas! It’s tough to pick a gift for someone who already has it all. I think experience gifts would be awesome!

  7. Excellent post! I just needed it. I have friends who are millionaires, and I always have a problem, what to buy for birthdays or wedding anniversaries.

  8. Those are nice lists of gifts that can give to someone who has it all, thank you for sharing this with us!

  9. When I have to make a gift to someone who has it all and most of all to whom I’ve already given many things, I give my time as a gift. I create a voucher card with a list of all the things we’ll make together 🙂

  10. I can totally relate! I got this friend who literally has everything so I was in a rut just trying to decide on what to get her as her birthday gift. Guess what I did? I took her outdoors…to visit this cute waterfall I love to visit and I loved seeing her appreciating that much more. So yes, experience gifts tend to be the best!

  11. My mom’s birthday is coming up and it’s always hard to find her a present because she has everything she needs! You’re suggestions are really good and it makes me think about presents that could be along those lines.

  12. Ooo, i love the idea of experience gifts or consumable gifts that you can spend time together… rather it being a knicknack that collects dust?!?! These are great ideas.

  13. Those all look like a lot of fun. I think I would love to do the helicopter ride. I couldn’t really take my dad though because he has had issues in helicopters. I do think experience gifts are among the most fun things.

  14. I love the idea of subscription gifts because a lot of people deal with loneliness and subscriptions often arrive right on time.

  15. Amazing! I love it! I have friends that ARE soooo difficult to shop for so this blog has really helped to expand my ideas. Thank you so much!

  16. I am always stuck for ideas on what to buy people, but I like the idea of gifting someone with an experience.

  17. Experiences are for sure great gifts! Also the great thing about subscriptions is you can’t control what’s in them exactly. So they can’t be like “why’d you get me this or that?”

  18. I have encountered several people who have everything that money can buy and they have opted for charity donations. They would pick one or two charities, which can either be their own or somebody’s foundation that they support, and they will ask guests to channel the gifts there. I think it’s a great idea of sharing than just buying gifts that will turn out to be useless for them anyway. 😀
