Have you ever sent or ordered cake over the internet? How about a cake that is personalised or that can fit through a letterbox. No I’m not insane, it can be done and for those that don’t believe me let me introduce you to Bakerdays.
See it wasn’t a figment of my imagination and yes maybe I do dream about cake but this my dear readers is something pretty fantastic.
Recently Bakerdays got in touch to tell me that they have changed their product packaging and wanted us all to help them celebrate their new look. Having just had a birthday at ours it was perfect timing and in a matter of days a cake of our choosing with a personal message came whizzing through the post and landed on our doormat. The package contained a tin which contained the cake, 2 candles, 2 candle holders, 1 blower, 3 balloons and a card.
There were plenty of designs to choose from on the site as well as options of sponge type. I though this design looked great and the fact that you can include a personal message is the icing on the cake – pun intended.
The tin protects the cake perfectly and it’s easy to remove it from the tin without causing any damage.
Of course the children couldn’t wait to get stuck in. They were all very excited, who doesn’t love cake! Being children they were also very excited about the blower which eventually had to be confiscated due to over use and needless to say they loved the balloons which kept the little one especially entertained for days after until one by one they popped.
Whilst the children ate not a sound was made which really was a slice of heaven for me. Sorry I’m struggling to contain the comedienne within today. The children thought the letterbox cake was a great idea and my other daughter has already asked if she can have one on her birthday.
They are totally focused on the cake. Even my attempts to get their attention by making funny faces and noises could not distract them.
These are a great idea and the cakes are actually better than quite a few I have tried from supermarkets and have a moist sponge. They even have gluten free and dairy free sponge cakes. For those without allergies options include traditional sponge, lemon drizzle, chocolate chip, red velvet and fruit cake.
Delivery is fast and they cover birthdays, Christenings and even Christmas should you so wish.
