I have often given boxes of Guylian chocolates as gifts to friends and family but didn’t know the background of this company until their pr company got in contact.  Apparently the name Guylian actually comes from the names of the cofounders Guy and Liliane who sealed their love after marrying in the 1950’s by combining their names to create the company name Gul-lian.  It seems only appropriate that we give these chocolates to loved ones especially on Valentine’s Day.

This is not a review so unfortunately I don’t have any tempting pictures of chocolate to tease you with but I do have a lovely treat for my readers so make sure you have a read of this post so you don’t miss out!

Guylian have a nice selection of chocolates available starting with the classic chocolate seashell that we all know and love with their roasted hazelnut praline centres and delicious white, milk and dark Belgian chocolate coating.

Guylian 1 The I Love You Boxes come in two sizes a small 42g heart and a105g heart shaped box.  These contain heart shaped chocolates, marbled and filled with roasted hazelnut praline.

Guylian 2 Their Seahorses are filled with delicious, soft and creamy caramel and have a delicious Belgian milk chocolate shell.  I was really excited to discover these as I haven’t tried them before and plan to get my hands on some soon!!!

Guylian 3 The Belgian Chocolate Seahorses are filled with roasted hazelnut praline and are coated with a mix of white, milk and dark chocolate.

Guylian 4 With the sale of each box there is also an added bonus.  Have a read of this:

Project Seahorse is dedicated to preserving seahorses and other marine life throughout the world. Guylian provides vital long term support for this crucial work and has been a major partner since 1999.

Seahorses function as flagship species for a wide range of marine conservation projects. These magical but fragile creatures are a good indicator of healthy coastal ecosystems, meaning that saving the seahorses = saving the seas!

Project Seahorse and Guylian agree on the importance of seahorses as a sign of quality – whether it’s for fine Belgian Chocolates or for healthy oceans, and each time you buy a box of Guylian Belgian Chocolate Sea Shells, you are helping to save seahorses and the seas.

Guylian 5 This post was initially live last week but since then my blog was either hacked or infected with a virus so a whole weeks’ worth just vanished.  So here we go again although it won’t of course be identical.  As those that saw the original post I have a lovely competition for all chocolate lovers.  Guylian have said that I can give away the following to one very lucky winner:

1 x Classic Praline Sea Shells

1 x Caramel Sea Horses

1 x Belgian Chocolate Sea Horses
