Today is National Beauticians Day and you know children, they love to celebrate everything if it means something fun for them to get involved in. Mummy didn’t disappoint with a great New product from the guys at Gel-a-Peel, the Nail-a-Peel Nail Art kit.  My daughters are very much into make up and anything girly really and love to dress up, put on make up, style their hair, paint their nails, try out different perfumes etc. so of course they were super excited about trying this out.
The girls were keen to create their own cool 3D nail designs and this weekend have been busy getting creative.  It’s great that these sorts of products allow them to use their imaginations to design different nail styles to wear.
We had the Nail-a-Peel Rock Out Kit which includes:

40 design templates

3 gel polish tubes and 1 nail confetti tube

2 nail wheels

3 design tips

2 brush applicators

3D gel tray

tweezers

roll of foil tape squeegee

50 nail adhesives

You can create over 60 nail designs with the contents of this kit.

The kit is suitable for ages 8+

What Did We Think?
The girls did find this good fun and I could see the concentration on their faces as they created their designs.
Having used the gel a peel products before the girls were well versed in how to use these.  The brushes came in handy to get the gel out as squeezing through the nozzles became harder as the tubes were being used as the product already in the nozzle would begin to dry.  Kids never remember to put the lids (provided) on things.
You need a steady hand to get better results so ages 8 may struggle a bit.  My 9 year old seemed to be doing much better.

The tubes are not very large but then you are only using a little at a time as it’s going onto nail size pieces of plastic.

The gel is quite sticky so we struggled to get a nice smooth even coverage although using the squeegee would probably have aided the girls in doing this, opsy.

There was a good range of design templates to give the girls ideas.  These could be copied or used for creative inspiration.

Tip: Cover surfaces before using the product.

We haven’t used the nails we prepared yet as it’s term time and nail polish etc isn’t allowed at school but the girls plan to finish the rest of the nails and wear them over the holidays.

There are other kits to collect from this range including the Sugar Rush Kit and a deluxe colour kit.

Kits can be found in Smyths and Argos ranging in price from £10.49 to £29.99.  Make sure you do a price comparison before buying to find the best value for money.
