It was little Miss A’s 6th birthday recently and preparations had begun for the big day. I needed to look into getting decorations, food, gifts and prizes for our little guests. As we were not holding the party on the actual day we thought a cake from bakerdays was a must so she could have a mini celebration with us. bakerdays have a good range of cakes available (vanilla sponge, chocolate chip sponge using Belgian chocolate, dairy free, gluten free and fruit cake ) and different sizes 5, 7 9 and 12 inches with a large selection of pretty designs.
I must admit that when I went over to the bakerdays site I was overwhelmed by the design choices they literally cover EVERY occasion and got very excited about the fact I could include a photo as I knew my daughter would love that! Little Miss A loves the little mermaid so the second I saw the mermaid cake I knew I had found the perfect cake. I ordered a letter box cake for our mini celebration. On the site you will find Birthday cakes, cakes for Father’s Day, Anniversaries, hen parties, to say sorry and many more including cakes you can design yourself.
You can choose the size and flavour of the cake and then add your own special message. If you order before 2pm then you can get the cake delivered the following day almost anywhere in the UK.
Letterbox cakes come with 3 balloons, candles and a little card. All the large cakes come with a cake slicer. The 5 inch was perfect for us to have a mini family celebration. A company after my own heart they make their own butter cream using really butter no cheap rubbish full of preservatives.
My daughter was overjoyed when she saw the cake with not just a mermaid but a picture of her on it. She asked me how they got the picture of her on the cake and I told her it was magic (we encouraging belief in such things at my house for as long as possible).
For a bought cake I was impressed that the sponge was not excessively dry or dense.
The cake vanished almost as fast as the candles were blown out. Mr Squishy made sure he got a piece and used a spoon and his hand to eat it as it was very yummy!
Thanks to the lovely guys at bakerdays we had a lovely little family celebration and mummy didn’t need to make a cake for a change.
