Yes you read that correctly it’s not a typo!

So what is it?

Simply put, the BubbleBum is an inflatable booster seat that is targeted at children between the ages of 4 and 11.   I was sent a BubbleBum to review and this was what the kids (ages 4.5 and 6.5) and I thought.

This ingenious device is extremely lightweight, portable and inexpensive.  It comes in its own stretchy carrier bag.

The BubbleBum booster itself is very simple to fold and fits back into the bag easily after use.

There is an air valve at the back that twists open and the booster inflates with just a few blows.  Another little twist will seal it so no air escapes.

Simply place the seat in the car, pop a mini person on top and fasten the seat belt.

Hook the seatbelt through the clips on either side.

If like below the child is not tall enough to have the seatbelt sit comfortably over the shoulder then just add the additional strap that is included.

Weighing just half a kilogram this lightweight, easily transportable car seat is great for travelling as it doesn’t take up much space in a suitcase and it can be used in all vehicles fitted with a three point seat belt.  It also saves space in the car as other car seats are quite bulky and most importantly in a childs perspective it is comfortable.  This is great for car pooling, use in taxis, rental cars abroad, keeping in the car for last minute playdate arrangements and as a spare for use in the grandparents car.

The booster seat has been approved under the United Nations ECE Regulation R44/04 for both safety groups 2 and 3.  Although a child is safer using a BubbleBum than a vehicle seat belt alone it is recommended that they stay in a 5 point harness seat as long as possible.

BubbleBum retails at £29.99 and can be purchased from Halfords, John Lewis, Boots, Argos, Tesco, Heatons, Kiddicare and Amazon.
