Mini Dinosaur Backpack with Safety Harness Reins

It’s fun getting out and about but not always so easy when you have 3 children to keep an eye on.  I am one of those mums that is a little over protective of her young.  I tend to like to hold their hands when we walk down the road although I know many others that are that bit more relaxed with their children allowing them to run along ahead and in some cases not being as watchful as you might expect.  Maybe I’m over doing it or maybe I’m not but with the world nowadays I appreciate children need to be street savvy but also am aware that people are busier and in many cases more careless when they drive.  I’ve seen cars swerve onto the road near children and noticed some drivers not paying attention as they drive, reverse etc.  I have always use reigns on my little ones, I appreciate some parents like them and others are not such big fans but I think they are great to allow little ones to have that bit more freedom (and exercise) than having to sit in a pushchair or hold mummy’s hand all the time.  Of course holding 3 hands doesn’t quite add up and so when I have all 3 with me I have mastered a way of making sure all are safe having mini man in the pushchair and the girls holding on to either side.  Mr Squishy has now thrown a spanner in the works though and has been insisting on walking a lot more which is fine but not quite so easy with the length of my reigns.  I had seen a few mums out and about with backpacks that had reigns on them and thought this to be a wonderful idea so when Babymel got in touch and asked if I wanted to review a backpack with reigns it was clearly meant to be!

Many of you will have heard of Babymel, they provide a whole range of kiddie related products from changing bags, lunch bags, bottles, backpacks and more.  We were sent a backpack for Mr Squishy to review.

The bag we were sent was the;

Mini Dinosaur Backpack with Safety Harness Reins

This is super cute and the perfect size as Mr Squishy is 2.5 and so this isn’t too large for his back.  This is suitable for ages 1 to 4 so he will get plenty of use out of it.  He loved the backpack as he finally had one of his own and didn’t need to try and steal his sisters ones anymore by grabbing them when they weren’t looking and making a run for it.  That would never turn out well for him so Mr Squishy is over the moon he now has one.  As you might imagine he was extremely eager to use it so he packed his bag with all the essentials.

The backpack is covered with cute dinosaurs and has a detachable safety harness/ reins perfect to keep me happy in the knowledge I have a good hold of my little man.  The harness is well made with a metal clip which I loved as my reigns have a plastic clip.  There is a large zipped compartment for storing all sorts of goodies from packed lunches to fun stuff.  There is an elasticated strap inside to help keep bottles secured which is handy.  Inside there is also a section where you can write the owners name inside a monster!  There is also a smaller pocket in the front of the bag perfect for tissues, hand wash and a few Wow Toys drivers.  Mr Squishy loves helping mummy by packing his bag to go out.  He is able to unzip and zip up the bag and even tries to put it on his back but still needs assistance with that but he is doing well.

Once the backpack is on he is ready to go out and can’t wait.  Sometimes he will quickly sneak in an extra toy or ten whilst mummy locks up (before the bag is on him).

This little man loves going out and about with his new backpack and loves the extra freedom it gives him.  Mummy is very pleased that it has padded straps and that they feel comfy for Squishy and also very secure so she doesn’t need to worry about the front clip or attachment to the bag opening on it’s own or breaking.  Mr Squishy has yet to discover that the cute little PVC-free, BPA-free, Phthalate-free Zip & Zoe tag attached is musical although mummy has sneakily pressed it then flipped the bag over and pretended she doesn’t know where the music is coming from lol.

My little man couldn’t be happier with this fab new backpack and loves to grab it and prepare it to encourage mummy to go out for extra walks.  It’s handy to know that when my little man is a bit older and I am somewhere I feel he will be safe I can unclip the harness and let him have a little roam around.

All purchases are covered by a 6 month warranty which is useful to be aware of and these guys have been awarded 5 stars for both their service and this product on Feefo.  This product is a recent addition to their product range but I am sure it will do well it is a great little bag for boys and girls that love dinosaurs.

Would you use a backpack with reigns for your children?

Project Mc2 H20 Nail Science Lab

My girls are pretty girly.  They love make up, having their nails painted, dressing up and taking their little handbags with them when they go out.  At school they have a great science teacher who has helped encourage them to develop a love for science themselves.  We were really pleased to hear that Project MC2 are supporting British Science week.(10th to the 19th of March).  The annual celebration of all things S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.

Project MC2 are passionate about encouraging more young people especially girls into these areas demonstrating that they can be fun and are not just for boys.  Their aim is to prove that being smart is cool as those that watch the popular Netflix show Project MC2 will be aware.  The Project MC2 super smart and chic heroines are back to take on more secret missions for top secret organisation NOV8 using their love of science and sky skills to help them complete their missions.  Two new seasons of the show were launched in 2016 with new products and two new characters.  This Spring will see the girls return to our screens with many new exciting S.T.E.A.M. focused products including the Project Mc2 H20 Nail Science Lab.

As seen in the Netflix original show Adrienne Attoms’ next mission is to use her cosmetic chemistry skills to formulate the perfect look for saving the world.  With the Mc2 H20 Nail Science Lab children can now perform this same cool S.T.E.A.M. experiment at home using just household ingredients.  By using a scientific process called hydrographic printing children can create amazing and unique marble designs!  It is very easy to use and can be applied directly to children’s nails or to the provided press-on nails with any combination of polishes that you own.

What is hydrographic printing?  A quick Science Lesson

This is also known as immersive printing and is in this instance when the nail varnish is added to the water and an object is placed on top – finger nails onto where the pattern from the floating nail varnish will transfer.  As the nail varnish is not as dense as the water it floats.  What is density – the number of molecules in an area, so the denser an object is ie. the more molecules the less likely it is to float.  Nail varnish has less molecules when applied in small amounts to water so this forms a thin layer on the water surface.  When we added the nail varnish in a large amount it would form a ball and sink as it is denser than the water (has more molecules).  This is why the instructions say to add one drop at a time.

Within the set you will find a multi-LED light up station with built-in nail dryer, three stands with holders for your nail polish, three discs with blank nails to design, adhesive stickers, four science pipettes, one design stick, and one clear beaker. Batteries and nail polishes are not included.  Detailed instructions are provided.

You will need 3 AA batteries.

Here is how we got on:

As you can see we had great fun doing this.  Having done this for the first time in the video we have learnt from this as mummy used quick drying nail varnish as that was what she had.  Next time we plan to use normal nail varnish and see the difference.

As you will see from the video we changed the way the masking tape was applied to the fingers as this was far easier and meant the tape stuck better and cover more of the skin.

This seemed to work pretty well and we didn’t have to remove much excess nail varnish from around the nails.

I was a little apprehensive at first about using the kit but only because I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to use and was a bit worried about messing it up.  Thankfully the product was so simple to use I didn’t get a chance to make a mess of it which was a good thing as that would have been embarrassing, phew!

The results were good and we look forward to experimenting with this again.  We now want to see if Vaseline works well around the nails to prevent the nail varnish sticking.  What do you think will it work?

This kit is for ages 8+ and makes a great gift to help encourage children to have fun with science.

Fancy winning one of these great Project Mc2 H20 Nail Science Labs?

Silly question but I thought I would ask.

Zoomer Zupps Tiny Pups: Diva

We are a family of animal lovers.  We love toy animals as well as live ones.  My children  would love to have a puppy but we simply don’t have the space or time to look after one.  When given the chance to review Zoomer Zupps Tiny Pups Diva of course we were game.  A puppy you don’t need to walk daily etc. is a far better alternative for us.  Wow these really are tiny pups we didn’t realise this pup would be quite so little although the name of the product does give it away, duh!  Anyway the day came when our pup Diva arrived and of course the girls and mini man were super excited so naturally I was extremely thankful that there were batteries included in the box.  Don’t you just hate it when batteries are not included and you need to do the mad scrabble around the house to find enough whist the little ones are asking over and over like a broken record “have you found them yet?”  This tiny pup is super cute and is brightly coloured too and she does make adorable little sounds.

What are Zoomer Zupps Tiny Pups?

Well they are pretty much what their name describes, tiny pups.

These tiny pups have little rollers under their feet so they can be pushed around.

The pups respond to touch via special sensors.  Pet their head and they bark and pant happily, pet and hold their head and the will bark “I Love You”.

Press their nose once or twice in a row and they will make cute sounds.  Press and hold the nose and they make a kissing sound.

The pups eyes light up as she interacts.

Each pup features a unique secret trick.  To find out what this is pet the head and then press the nose twice.

They play a fun Zupp game called the bark back game.  Pet the head and press the nose at the same time to play.  They bark and flash their eyes in a specific pattern.  Pet the head to repeat the pattern.  Pet the head quickly for a bark and pet and hold the nose for a howl.  Get three in a row and you win!

The legs are adjustable so you can make them stand, sit or lie down.

If you have a few pups you can watch them interact with each other.

There are six to collect and each pup comes with a collector card, instruction book and have batteries already installed.

These are for children aged 4 to 8 years old.

See Diva in Action:

What Did We Think?

The kids loved Diva, they thought she was super cute and loved the sweet little sounds that she made and also when she said “I Love You”.  Zoomer Zupps are easy to play with and Diva’s back legs move so you can position her to do tricks such as sit, lie down as well as stand.

The pups are small enough to make them easily transportable.  The more you play with them the happier they are and the kids found this adorable little pup irresistible.  Mr Squishy liked Diva so much he wanted her.  The girls were not impressed when he grabbed her and said “is miiiii” (is mine).

Zoomer Pups are available to buy from retailers such as Toys R Us, The Entertainer and Smyths and have a RRP of £14.99.

Have you heard of Zoomer Zupps Tiny Pups before?  Would you get one as a gift for a child you know?

Gel-A-Peel Pearly Pastel Kit Review and Giveaway

My girls love to do arts and crafts and honestly if there were more hours in the day we would be getting creative on a daily basis.  Unfortunately with school taking up to much time and then the dreaded homework, trying to squeeze in reading and then not forgetting the tutors with their homework most of our days are used up so there isn’t much time to get out all our arts and crafts gear and get making fabulous designs.  The weekends are great as we have a little more time to do things so this weekend the girls were super organised and started preparing for Mother’s Day 2017 which is on the 27th of March.  It was really appropriate as apparently March is #NationalCraftMonth.  They decided to design Mother’s Day cards using a new product we had been sent to review: Gel-A-Peel.

For those like us that have never come across Gel-A-Peel before this is very easy to use and I speak from experience.  This was something we were very excited to try and we read all the instructions first to make sure we did it correctly.  There isn’t much to it, you simply choose your nozzle (tip) and pipe the gel into shapes and patterns.

The girls were very keen to do a YouTube video to tell you all about it:

Inside the box we found 3 pearly pastel gel tubes, 16 design templates, 5 designer tips, and a gel tray.  You can also use this in arts and crafts designs it’s a flexible product and isn’t limited to one thing.  We decided to get creative and make some Mother’s Day cards so firstly we used the tray provided to make some gems and flowers.

The gems and other items will take a few hours to dry.  We left ours whilst the kiddies were out so about 6 hours.  I also thought I we should also make one of the items the kit has been designed for so we made some bracelets using one of the templates provided.  We added in some crystals (these did not come with the pack) as we thought they would look great against the pearl colour of the bracelets.  The crystals were attached whilst the gel was still wet.

Then we started on our card designs.

Didn’t they do a fabulous job!

The cards could have also be made using the gel pens only like this:

The girls also loved their bracelets.  Don’t they look pretty.  They felt very soft too and the girls liked stroking them.

My girls plan to make some more bracelets for their friends.

We thought that this was a fab arts and crafts set and that you guys would love one too so we are holding a competition for one lucky reader to win a Pearly Pastel Kit like the one shown in this review.

Pocket Microscope from Interplay

I loved science when I was younger, in fact I loved it so much I ended up studying herbal medicine.  If found it really interesting to find out how the human body worked as well as learning more about nature.  My girls also seem to be displaying an interest in the human body and also the natural world and of course I want to encourage this as much as possible.  We do go out and about looking at all sorts of things such as creepy crawlies, fungi of various types, animals/birds that we may come across.  I remember one year we came across a field that had baby frogs.  We stayed for hours, the girls would run around and try and catch them although their reaction was hilarious when they jumped at them.  I remember as a child having my own microscope although what happened to that I haven’t a clue so when Interplay offered me the opportunity to review their pocket microscope of course I couldn’t refuse.

The microscope comes packaged with everything you might need to get started including a microscope, a sample slide with grasshopper parts, a sample slide with textiles, 3 blank microscope slides, 12 transparent sample covers, 12 labels for samples, 4 storage jars, tweezers and an instruction booklet.

You will need 2 AA batteries for this so if you are buying this for your children or as a gift bare that in mind it’s disappointing when you can’t play with your toys as you don’t have the necessary batteries.

Setting up the microscope is simple.  All you need to do is put the batteries in pull the torch to turn it on and look through.  The samples provided are great as they give little ones something to start looking at but it isn’t hard to find other things to pop under the microscope.  Simply look around the house, you will find plenty of items in the kitchen such as salt, sugar, whole and ground pepper.  Even something as simple as a hair from you hairbrush can be placed under the microscope.

There are plenty of items too that can be found outside to look at.  Why not try looking at a leaf of a stem of a plant.  Insects or parts of insects can also work well.  Don’t forget it the insect is live it won’t keep still so it might be more of a challenge to focus on it with the microscope.

We headed off into the garden to see what we could get our hands on.  The girls were very brave until we found a spider.  Neither wanted to try and catch it so of course mummy (who really doesn’t like spiders) had to assist (eeeuuuuuggggghhhhhh).  With our eight legged friend in tow we headed indoors to take a look and get some pictures to show everyone.

This looks like it could be a brown spider although I could be mistaken.  It has plenty of larger relatives in our garden but thankfully we didn’t come across any of those otherwise I am sure you would have heard our screams across the UK.  Although terrified of these we do also find them quite fascinating as long as they can’t touch us.

The microscope is small enough to fit into a pocket, handbag or back pack and is very light.  It can be used on the go if you find anything exciting you want to take a closer look at.  The microscope magnifies items to 30 times their actual size.

My girls are looking forward to discovering more creepy crawlies and looking at more things under the microscope too.  This is a great way to encourage children to move away from computer screens and get outside more and it can also be educational as well as great fun!

What creepy crawlies or other items would you like to see under a microscope?

Pancake Day with Num Noms #NumNomsFoodie

It’s Pancake Day, yaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy!!!!!

We love pancakes so when the guys at Num Noms set us a challenge to create a Num Nom inspired pancake we of course had to accept, any excuse to make some pancakes.

The guys sent us a little

Inspiration…

to help us get those creative juices flowing.  They came up with some great sounding ideas combining some of their Num Noms.

Coconut Raspberry Topper

Introducing Razzi Berry, Coco Cali and Choco Sprinkles!  We think these three would make a pancake with just the right balance of sweet, sour, and a hint of coconut!

Straw-Nana Mallow Madness

When you already have a Nom which combines the delicious flavours of strawberry and banana in a lipgloss, it would be crazy not to combine these two in a pancake.  We’re bringing extra tasty toastyness with Toasty Mallow too, because who wouldn’t want melted marshmallow in a pancake?

Just cheese

When you need a savoury treat, where better to start than cheese?  Cheesy Burrito is our chosen character for this one, part of the Fiesta food Starter Pack it makes for the perfect pancake.

Our creation combined two Num Noms

We thought we would have a bit of fun and make a pancake stack that looked like a Num Nom, how cool is she!

We also wanted to show this as a normal dessert.

We made a stack of mini pancakes then topped it with a home made dark chocolate ganache that combined 50g melted dark chocolate and 50ml double cream combined.  This was topped with yummy fresh strawberries and squirty cream and hundreds and thousands.

The kids couldn’t wait to tuck in.  Apparently it was “really good” not that I’d know as I didn’t get any.  Poor mummy.

We had so many different Nums Noms to inspire us.  The delicious Series 3 stackables has nine new collections, new themes include Marshmallows, Donuts, Fruits, Veggies, Candy and Fiesta Foods.  This seasons Noms are either erasers, stampers or dual-flavoured lip glosses, and of course they all smell so delicious.

We were also sent some starter packs to review.  You can take a look at our #unboxingvideo here and see what we were sent:

Available within Series 3 Mystery Pots, Starter Packs, Lunch Box Deluxe Packs and Surprise in a Jar, the uniquely scented characters have never been more fun, with so many ways to collect.

The lip-gloss range has also expanded, with duos of flavours such as Straw-Nana, Peachy Pina and Mintberry now being served!

There are so many fabulous scents and products now available we wanted to share the fun yet again with yet another wonderful Num Noms giveaway.  This time we will be giving away 1 Series 3 Lunchbox Deluxe Pack & 1 Series 3 Starter Pack!

Get Your Skates On and Get Fit!

My girls love to go to the local parks and play.  For them to take their bikes, roller skates or scooters is the icing on the cake.  It’s nice to spend time together but also great that we get to go out in the open air and get some exercise and also allow them to develop an appreciation of the natural world around them.  Many children don’t get anywhere near as much exercise as they should and this is resulting in child obesity figures gradually rising.  As I mentioned in my 5 Habits You Should Introduce into Your Daily Routine post my plan was to up my exercise levels by adding as many power walks as possible to my weekly routine.  I do these without the children but it’s nice to get some exercise with the little ones too and keep their fitness levels up.  I try to take them to the park as often as possible weather permitting  and when we get there the girls love to whizz off and leave me behind.  With them on wheels it isn’t always easy for me to keep up.  I should add that I am not one for running although I can walk pretty fast but I understand there is conflicting evidence as to whether running on hard surfaces causes problems to the body.  Fortunately I had one of those light bulb moments and thought maybe I should invest in some wheels of my own to make our time out a bit more fun.  Don’t get me wrong I love going out in the fresh air with my girls but when I have to constantly be on top of them as I can’t see them when they zoom off into the distance or around corners it is a pain.  Of course I do tell them not to go around corners or too far but they are children and get overly excited and forget and off they whizz yet again.  I want to keep going out with them but be able to keep up and maybe challenge them a bit too to add to the enjoyment.

The solution to my problem is so simple I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner.  A scooter or some roller skates / blades would mean I can keep up with the children, race them and work on my fitness too.  The only problem is choosing what to get.  Of course I’m not going to go just anywhere to get them.  I need to use a company that can advise me about their products, that is reasonably priced and has a good trust pilot rating as I plan to get whatever I decided on online rather than going to a store as it is more convenient for me.   I do like Skates.co.uk having had a store near me.  The last time I visited them they were fantastic and staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about products which helped.  I am in and out of the house all the time but Skates.co.uk make it super convenient by offering a 1 hour time slot and next day delivery if I want it too.

My choices if I go for roller skates / blades are:

No’s 1 & 2: Rio Roller Quad Skates White / Pink or Red / White.  (£49.95)

These are available in two colours and are great for those that don’t have the best sense of balance.  I like the simple design of the boot and the material used looks like it would be soft and quite comfortable and also provide some ankle support.  My girls saw these whilst I was browsing the site and also picked them out as they liked them too.  I haven’t skated for years so these seem like a good option as they are great for beginners or those getting back into roller skating and a choice that will also get me moving a fair amount.  These are available in both children’s and adults sizes.

No 3: SFR Camden Adjustable Inline Skates in Pink (£54.95)

These also look great.  I love the colour and that they offer a lot of ankle support, even more than the quad skates.  These too use material that would be soft and they have an “ultra comfort liner”.  By the time i had found this my girls had been sent off to do their homework but I am sure they’d have wanted a pair themselves.  They look really trendy and very feminine.  This comes in two colours, the one shown and a grey and purple option.  These too would allow for a good workout and I am sure they would help me raise my heart rate quite fast and get a great workout whilst racing after the children.  These are available in children’s sizes and adults up to size 6 which is perfect as that’s my size!

No’s 4 & 5 JD Bug Original Street Scooter in Matt Purple / Pastel Pink (£54.95)

These of course would make me look like a super trendy parent, gliding along hopefully pretty gracefully after my girls.  The scooters look great and come in a range of colours including those shown as well as black, silver, red, blue and sky blue.  According to the website this scooter is one of the lightest scooters around and it also folds down with one simple movement!  The scooter also has a carry strap so if I do decide to walk for a little then I can simply hang it over my shoulder.  The handle bar is adjustable to suit a range of heights and the new larger grip tape covers more of the footplate for a more secure, firm, footing ensuring I don’t end up falling on my bottom and embarrassing the kids (and myself).  This scooter is very versatile and can be used for children and adults which is handy although don’t tell my girls or they might decide it’s theirs.

At moment I am thinking that the blades might be the best bet for me but haven’t quite decided which to go for.

Which would you choose?

I thought it appropriate considering the topic of my post to speak with Skates.co.uk who have kindly said that I can host a giveaway for a lucky reader to win either one of the quad skates, roller skates or scooters I decided to feature in my post, how kind of them.  The winner can select from numbers 1,3,4 or 5.  There is a possibility of a change of colour if there is an alternative colour for that item in stock.

Entry is super easy just enter via the rafflecopter form.

Lalaloopsy Potty Surprise (includes a FAB competition)

A little while back we introduced you all to Lalaloopsy.  Lalaloopsy have a range of fun, brightly coloured toys for little ones and one of them that you may have seen advertised on children’s tv recently is Lalaloopsy Potty Surprise.  Now of course the second my girls saw this they wanted to have one, who wouldn’t it’s a doll that poops!!!!!!  I’m really excited about this particular toy because it has arrived at around the time that the mini man is more conscious about trying to go to the toilet and this has coincided with him actually using the toilet.  I think that seeing the doll and his sisters go to the toilet and not wearing nappies has really spurred him to wanting to be a big boy and using the toilet.  My little man has started stripping and running bare bottomed to the toilet although he can’t quite get on it without help just yet.  It’s hilarious, he has totally perfected the stripping part it takes him seconds and before you know it you have a toddler running starkers around the house, it’s pretty hilarious I must say!  Not so much when we have an accident on the floor though but we will work through that.  Anyway back to Lalaloopsy.  As you can see this doll is cute with her large dark button eyes and my girls love her.Lala1

In the box you get the doll, 3 different coloured foods, a bowl, a spoon and a potty.  And of course importantly it’s super easy to use.

Using the spoon to portion out some food.

There are various shapes and the kids loved discovering new ones in the potty.

Both my girls and Mr Squishy love playing with this and the great thing is that no matter how many times they have left the lid open the food which is like kinetic sand does not seem to dry out, good to know as we all know what children are like.  The food pot lids and the potty are all nicely decorated which I liked and this is one of those super toys that you don’t need to get batteries for making it a great gift as that’s one less expense and thing to remember, bonus!  A lot of thought that has gone into this toys presentation which is great.  When we were first playing with this I did notice when the doll wasn’t used properly the poop didn’t form a shape so be sure to follow our instructions above or via our YouTube video:

How much fun is that!

Now like all parents, grandparents, loving aunts and uncles we want to get our hands on these great toys but also where possible want to save ourselves a few pounds in the process.  With that in mind I did a quick price comparison and found the doll being sold by numerous shops for over £30 except for one!!!!  I am pleased to tell you I have found probably the bargain of the month for those needing to by something like this as a gift.  I found Lalaloopsy Potty Surprise was being sold for just £14.99 in Argos stores so if you want one hurry and get ordering online as once the deal sites get wind of it this they will sell out!!!!  You heard it here first lol.

I am going to add some more good news to that.  We have a super duper competition for one of my lovely readers to win a Lalaloopsy Potty Surprise Doll!!!!!

Introducing Dubble Trubble Plus a Giveaway

Bath time is a pretty fun time for the little ones at our house.  They love to splash about and get lost in their own little imaginative world.  The girls love to bathe on their own so they can stretch out and pretend to be mermaids where as Mr Squishy loves to fill up jugs and toys with water and pour it back into the bath.  Of course bath time is not just about playing it is also about washing the little ones so they smell great after running around at school or at home and building up a sweat.  No one likes a smelly child now do they.  My little ones love fragrant fruity products to use when washing their body and hair and so were extremely excited to be sent some Dubble Trubble products.  These award winning organic (over 70% organic ingredients) shampoos and body washes come in a range of aromas including Cherry Bomb, Cool Cucumber, Strawberry, Watermelon and Bananaberry.  You will also find a Cool Cucumber Detangling Conditioner Spray.

Hair4

The products do NOT contain SLES, SLS or parabens.  SLES and SLS can cause skin irritations and SLES are often contaminated by a carcinogen (1,4 Dioxane – cancer causing) which is a by-product of manufacturing.  The products are NOT tested on animals which means we can buy the products in good conscience.

Dubble Trubble products have been created by celebrity hair colourist and Prince’s Trust Ambassador, Daniel Galvin Jr.  His collection of five pH balanced Hair & Body washes and Detangling Mist all contain organic botanical extracts to ensure that our children’s hair is in safe hands.

These are available in Tesco and most Asda stores, as well as online in Ocado and Daniel Galvin Jr’s stores.

As we all know children love to unbox items no matter what they are it’s the excitement of seeing what’s inside so I thought it might be fun to do an unboxing video.

So now you’ve seen the unboxing what did the children think???

It was hardly surprising that the children had whipped off their clothes in minutes and were excited about getting into the bath after filming.

Hair3

The children loved the range of aromas and wanted to try them all so we have been having extra baths to get through each.  Their favourites were the cherry bomb and strawberry although they did like them all.  The combination of the shampoo and the detangling spray made the children’s hair easier and faster to brush through which was good as we can spend ages sometimes.  I liked the range and aromas and would like to see a few more of the aromas of the shampoo and body washes available in the detangling spray range.

Hair5

These are lovely products and ones we are sure to use again.  If you would like an opportunity to give them a go for yourself why not enter our competition to win some Dubble Trubble goodies.  One lucky reader will be sent the selection of hair and body washes and also the detangling spray.

Entry is super easy just enter via the rafflecopter form.

Age 2 Verbal Development Update

I recently wrote a post about my little man and his verbal development.  I thought that it might be fun to follow this up with some more information for those with a 2 year old themselves and include a little update with new words that have been added to my little man’s vocabulary since the last post.

As I previously mentioned children develop at different speeds and we should not compare them to others for this reason although I understand it is hard and also frustrating when you hear others children are saying things which sound far more progressed than your own child.

My little man seems to be progressing well but then he does have two older sisters that he loves to try and emulate.

tumble2

Children with siblings do tend to progress at a much faster rate and I should know having had two other children prior to Mr Squishy.  At this age his mind is like a sponge and it is shocking how quickly he learns new words.  As one might expect for the age group he has difficulties with certain sounds including ch, sh, th and also r but we can still generally understand him and with his adorable little voice and facial expressions it is super cute listening and communicating with him.

Squishy is now forming slightly longer sentences where he can and is becoming just as chatty as his sisters.  I try to encourage conversation and read to my little man using books with simple words and as many pictures as possible.  When children can visualise a word for example ‘cat’ they are more likely to find it interesting and learn the word and what it relates to.  Now is the time to learn numbers, colours and shapes.  Mr Squishy has been trying to learn his numbers with me.  I use songs to help me teach him as it is much more fun and we use our fingers and props where available.  My little man knows some of his numbers now although his pronunciation is hilarious.

Mr Squishy’s latest words include:

Water: was Buuubba last time I posted but his has now developed and has become wudder (almost there little man keep at it).

Two: Poo. I know it cracks me up each time I hear it.

Three: wee/ bee.

Pillow: tillow.

This way: he can say this very well.

Soup: Poop.

Oh mummy I love you: Oh mummy I laaaallluuuu.

Night night mummy.

Daddy watch me: Daddy whot me.

Phone: bone

Daddy phone ringing:  Daddy bone ring ring

As you can see his speech is coming along.  Mr Squishy is saying far more words correctly and is learning new ones daily.  By the time this little chap is 3 he will know 200+ words and will want to go to big school with his sisters.

Have your little ones learnt a new word which they can’t quite pronounce or did they come out with some hilarious pronunciations when they were little?
